Whoa thanks everyone, loads more replies than I was expecting!
@lemonade and @Familyman both great quick ideas to try. I think I have some glue dots that could work for both.
@dbr I do like the brass idea a lot. No pillar drill currently but I'm always looking for excuses to buy tools!

Any ideas on how to make this coat rack less infuriating? The angle of the pegs is so shallow that any more than one jacket per peg requires loads of faff and multiple attempts to keep them from falling off.
The pegs are glued in and I have had the following ideas, but would welcome any other suggestions that would be easy for an oaf with basic tools.
- Notching the peg near the outer end to trap jackets before they fall off. (Least obtrusive to design but seems like the hardest to do well).
- Some kind of pin in the top.
- Some kind of disc glued to the end of each peg. (Would mess with the design a bit, pegs would stick out further than the shelf)
- Notching the peg near the outer end to trap jackets before they fall off. (Least obtrusive to design but seems like the hardest to do well).

Depending on the age you're looking at Transporter prices can be vary quite a bit. Esp depending on whether they're camper converted or not, what sort of conversion etc.
On the scammer thing - it's possible, esp with transporters. They're consistently popular so attract chancers but they're often apparent in that there'll be someone asking £8k for a total shitbox, or wanting to recoup every penny of the £12k they spent on their diy conversion.

Went to a Rapha Sample sale today, ended up with a couple of bits where my choice of size was a bit optimistic. I'm a bit gutted about the brevet especially
Everything's brand spanking, just tried on quickly this afternoon.
Prices are what I paid but shipping will need adding on top unless you happen to be in the north east.
PT training Jersey - grey - xs - £47
Brevet windblock - dark navy - xs - £47
Core cargo tights with pad - s - £65
PT softshell arm warmers - s - £25 -
I don't mind switches on cables so much, but I'm not keen on having to pick the light up to turn it off as per the Hay portable jobbies.
@mrbaxter I think I could deffo risk one or two of the AliExpress fellas for those prices, they don't look bad in the customer review photos.

Cheers folks!
My partner is open to wall lamps but I'm generally pretty averse. I can't really get on with the dangling cables and don't have the stomach/wallet to go chasing into walls at the mo.
We like the Hay Pao and PC and have found both for around £100, but they both seem to have the switches on the bottom which is a bit of a turn off (no pun intended).
&Tradition also have a couple of nice options but they're past the £100 mark. Maybe I need to adjust my expectations a bit.

Recently got these new bedside tables but they’re a bit too small for the lamps so I’d like some new lighting
Anyone know of any similar but a bit smaller? These are about 25-30cm diameter, and from IKEA so ideally something <£100 though i suspect this is a big ask.
Most I’ve found so far are well over that price

Have a look for some camping slippers - they’re basically puffer jackets for your feet and there are some that cover the ankles. Most outdoor brands (north face, montane, rab etc) do them.
Warmest slippers I’ve ever had by a mile

The way you've asked the question makes me think you might not have done much electrical work.
An accurate assessment :)
I’m a fairly competent DIYer but am generally wary of electrical work unless it’s fairly simple or i can find very good instructions.
I’ll mull it over for a bit. Loft access is great and one of the things I’m thinking of doing is extracting the loft space itself. (Long story).
So i don’t need the extractor on a light switch as I’ll fit a humidistat to control it, would just need the isolator alone which i would hope simplifies things.
Will think it over a bit more and see if i can find a pro.

Cheers @Tom13 @Nef, you’re both right. Just need to get my head round putting money and time into it so i can shift it easily.
Values are decent but you do need to speculate to accumulate and it needs a couple of grand at least to finish to an easily sellable standard. Twice that if I want top dollar.

Question for the masses in this thread, although perhaps one for the camper thread also.
How likely would you be to buy a half done project with bodywork issues, assuming the listing was transparent?
I’ve been saving up to have my camper van conversion bodywork sorted but it’s coincided with buying a house and I’d now rather put the money into that, sell the van and buy a cheaper runaround.
I don’t really want to sink money into the bodywork on the hope that I’ll make it back on the sale, but not sure if it’s an appealing prospect with the rust the way it is

Well, I installed the Tado gear easily enough this morning - the instructions in the app are brilliant.
It seems decent so far and it's nice to have finer control over things.
However, I've discovered that the boiler is leaking, which is great. It's 14 years old so not all that surprising. We were looking into overhauling the heating system next year, but maybe we'll have to do it sooner.
What a massive arsehole JV is. Is he trying to impress Elon Musk or something?
