I have one cross race remaining this season, on the 29th, so focus is on that.
I am building a sweet fixie though, with a view to doing this ride and more in the future.

6 hours in Z2 is perfect training! I saw a video about this on the internet.
You'll be pinging for the next weekend's race

It worked when we did that 6 hour off road ride back in 2017 (I think?). I was pinging for the European Singlespeed Champs ten days later.

That was a great ride! I still feel bad about my noisy-ass mudguards though.
-
• #56
I wouldn't. I'd completely forgotten about them.

Have yet to negotiate a pass. Waiting for confirmation of the rearranged date for number two's 10th birthday party too, as we had to postpone because of illness in the house last weekend.

Trains are up the swanny, so will have to drive to the start now unfortunately which means no post ride beers ðŸ˜
Also desperately need to put some miles in the legs over the next two weeks. Almost forgotten where my bikes are! Excited though

What line will you be getting? I can't find much info on strikes for that weekend
Will be cycling to the start but was planning to train it back

I’m based in Stroud, Gloucestershire now, so Great Western I think. London trains sound fine by all accounts

Tickets booked. Bike is a wreck but I've got 2 weeks to put it right :)

Ha me too, had to get my rear wheel serviced today. Turn out it was causing all kinds of extra noises and made the bike ride like crap. Like a whole new bike now! I think it needed new bearings about 8 months ago :(

May have something to do with last weeks 109 ride...

My fitness is shocking at the moment, need to get some fixed kms under my belt. Still kinda reeling from that 'moderate' ride in October!

There's enough muck on my bike for plants to start self seeding.
Know it's way too soon but already excited about going for a long ride

Hmm. Mine won't take mudguards. I do have two weeks and a box of Columbus tubes though....
-

I have a rolling fixed now, so if motivation is here, i should be joining.
No mudguards either.... -
• #73
Mudguards are not compulsory. In fact they might mean you do fewer turns at the front so we all don't get your roadspray :)

uninstalls mudguards

Peak Amey
Builds bike around mudguards then removes them when they are required
