How are the Thundercats fixed for volunteers?
-
• #78
We will be putting out a call for volunteers in due course @youramericanlover, we will need a bunch of people to help out on the day.
-
• #79
Lea Valley CC might be able to help you out with marshalling - but then can you help us out at the Tuesday Tens at the Velopark?
I ll ask the members...

Hi @Peter_Carter I'm calling in bossman @roboto to respond to your generous offer!
The slight issue could be that there are currently only 10 Thundercats so I'm not sure how much marshalling we can offer.
-
• #81
Actually we did have a couple of people want to ride last years LVCC Tuesday Tens brakeless. I am afraid that we had to say no for the reasons mentioned above.

Every little helps.

Of course, support your local bike community!

Hi
We will require a few marshalls or volunteers for the day, so I'm always happy to receive offers.
As for the back scratching in return, I'm sure we might be able to help on occasion, but as Cazakstan said, we're just a small team rather than a large membership club, so our people resources are on the thin side. We're all for supporting local racing communities though so I'm sure some arrangements can be discussed if needed.
I'll be working out a list of who or how many people we need to get things working soon and posting for help then.
Thanks.

I'm heading our to check the circuit tomorrow. Is it finalised? Will it feature this hill that has been mentioned?
Also, if anybody wants to tag along you are more than welcome.
-
• #86
The course is the lower course. I don't really want to add the hill for the race as it seems pointless.
If you haven't already signed up there are only 10 spaces left from 100 in the men's race.
Still plenty of space for more women to sign up (26 riders signed up to race so far).

I'm signed up, but the missus has left my waterbottle at box hill so I'm off back there tomorrow instead..
-
• #88
Haha! Must be a very important water bottle. ;)

Yup, tis. I got a pair from the Garmin Cervelo team after the Leeds stage of TDF. Already lost one...

Ok. So I need to get some volunteers together for the day please. I'm calling on the power of the forum to come through please. I could do with some flag wavers and general helpers to be around on the day. Nothing too strenuous involved, just making sure things go smoothly with me and a few others.
Please only volunteer if you will definitely be able to help on the day. I don't actually need 10 people but the more the merrier and we'll be able to share duties. The list can go over 10 if people are feeling generous :)

@mands @Backstop @Doctor_Cake @youramericanlover @Rowhan Can anyone help us on the day or could you spread the word for helpers please?
Thanks, no pressure obviously and any help greatly appreciated! I know @mands is already setting up as a riders hostel because you are awesome.

Happy to help out (I don't have the fitness to make it worthwhile to race).

I generally quite like helping out but I'm away on a stag that weekend...

No problem, I only asked because you're such a good helper.

Yeah I'm going to have to try get a team there in time! :S
Start time on this event says 7am. How accurate is that?!
What time should I aim at getting the riders there for?
Anyone doing a feeder ride from central? Or even from say, Stratford? - Nicola
Damn. Totally understand the reasoning, will look forward to one i can compete in. Good luck!
