OK, I have spent the weekend riding 300km (yeah, no big deal) round Kent, Surrey, Sussex, so feel well-enough versed to tell you the result of the election. I can confidently tell that, on placard game alone, the Lib Dems are going to win a mahoosive landslide. The Green will be HM's opposition, though their strong placard showing raises questions about their attitude to single use plastics. Among the cranks and also rans:
Tories - one placard for Jeremy Hunt in his constituency (despite him putting in £100k of his own money, allegedly), another one for some guy called Quin. A couple in the South Downs for Andrew Griffith, though he seems to have forgotten to mention which party he is standing for.
Labour - two placards in separate constituencies.
Reform - one placard (Havant).
Independent - one of those, no idea who the guy was. -

And part of one of the constituencies is on the mainland!

He's defected in terms of his support. The OG Tory candidate still stands

I was in the New Forest in late May / early June and - surprisingly - saw very few Tory posters/window stickers.

Knatts Valley was all Reform placards on Saturday. Wished I’d taken a sharpie to do some editing - deform maybe?
At least I was wearing All-In Racing rainbow socks for pride. That’ll learn ‘em.

He announced it on 22 May with nothing lined up in terms of election machinery - there weren't any placards, even if people were willing to put them in their gardens.

I was in Hunt world today. Only 1 sign spotted. But only 1 LD as well, so possibly not statistically robust.

North Norfolk is going to go LibDem. Taps nose.

He’s trying hard to be so likeable and I’m just like you that it’s so obvious that he isn’t like any of us. Not long till he can fuck off to his millions and at least off our telly.

Just got my postal vote... needs to be back in the UK by 10pm on the 4th. Seems unlikely.
I know a retired black cab driver who moved to the Isle of Delight. His political perspective is that the BNP are woke lefties, so I shall enjoy the thought of a Labour island.
