The Nihola is working out so well it looks like it plus katu with a kids seat will be the family bile combo we actually need. So time to improve the katu.
List so far:
Disc fork
Cockpit with no adjustable quil nonsense
Longer seatpost/new saddle
Swap to nexus 8
New brakes front and rear
Modify rack to move it a bit farther back/lower
New cranksAnd so the spiral begins a new 🥲

So with a heavy heart and a light wallet i have decided i need to scale back and move into a smaller lockup. To start im letting friends have a root around through the piles of i have this but i dont know why. First up is this trek hybrid. It was my shopper from a few bikes ago but i bent the fork in a crash. Now has a longer fork with a 24" front 26" rear and will get a fork mounted rack for a very ghetto take on a Crust Clydesdale

So I possibly found a shop that can repair my broken dreams cannondale optimo track. So again highly motivated to build more pointless bikes. It my be divisive but I saw this build on line and it is kind of the mood bore of what i would do but flatcrown, more interesting cranks and spoke.

In other news my wife it turns out is just a slow riding cargo bike person at heart and only wants to ride the nihola and at a max speed of 13kph as that just feels right to her. In celebration she decided to make a sticker pack for her kindred spirits (though the one is a bit close stridsland she arrived there on her own as she 100% knows nothing about bikes or "bike people."

Got some time to tinker and did some things, firstly diamant track got bigger front tire and the only not a spoke 700c wheel i have without a dynamo hub as ill save that for a future version. To overlap gets worse but otherwise an improvement. Need to gind a matching rear in the junkpile spirit of this bike.

Made some progress putting this together. Its a mifa universal little shopper/cycle truck from east Germany. Coaster brake in the rear with drum brake up front. Have all the bits to finish it but the old pressfit bottom bracket cups dont want to give under hammering so im not sure how to proceed. Will get a big front rack and crate.

Spent some time putting this together but it mostly exits to condense spare parts into a bike. Will be vbrake rear disc front. Maybe pizza rack, maybe sell?

Also maybe finally found a frame builder to repair cracked capo, so im low down getting missing prices for an all silver bits build. Thinking campy vento/96 wheelset and a big zen. We will see if it works out.

Starting to gather bits to rebuild my capo once it is welded up. Think this will come out nice. Looking for a matching or similar front wheel (Vento) and then cranks, stem and seatpost. Saddle will be some sort of flite probably.

Blue bike is super rad but none of my friends is man enough for it. I already have an orbea katu with far too much invested and too many cargo bikes so its just something i dont need sadly. Up for sale soon.
Was actually going to write the german seller on the vento. There was a nicer one local but i slept on it. But that one already has wrecked logos so i can scratch it off and redo the decals to match the rear. Rear is perfect and nos. Trying to find a black one but may come back to you. Not in a rush as frame still has to get repaired. Im also in the process of going for a 40qm keller to a 4qm so need to stop hording.
So Nihola was purchased for my wife to be a fair weather car replacement and she crushed it haha. Did the school run today plus picked up our 9yo niece and running her around town then picked up our then took the thing shopping. It took 4 cargo bikes but we found one that works.
