@Hulsroy Is the essence of this BD lark that my bars should have the lower part of the drops parallel to the ground pretty much how they are shown in the catalog?

Yes if you then install hoods correctly afterwards as well

Bars hoods look like a good combo. It just needs tilting down a tad at the stem.

Folk of bdhu: anyone care to share some hot tips for aligning levers on bars without guide marks?

My current method is to eyeball them and check with a spirit level/large ruler, but I never feel like I get them 100% right.

I use a piece of sting/tape/paper and run it on the outside of the drop to the bottom of the shifter and cut it off to length. Use that to match the placement and just like that it’s done.

Only just discovered this thread. I've been doing drop bars wrong this whole time. Thanks @Hulsroy
