How come some people get an asterisk after their score. For example I got 6/6 but greeno got 2/6*

The asterix denotes that you're playing in hard mode.

Did I miss it yesterday (yes, I was drunk) or has the streak been reset due to the nytimes new layout?

Oh, I thought hard mode was denoted by grey squares rather than black
