You could always buy a frame or parts on the c2w scheme, doesn't need to be a full build anymore. That way you can still assemble yourself. Just has to be one order from one supplier. How are you finding the bora wto wheels? I still fancy a pair but they are spenny.

Ah I didn’t know that.
The Bora wheels are great - totally worth it. They just seem to propel you along without any effort. I got them for a great price from chicken cycles’ eBay shop

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a Pfadfinder. In terms of its versatility as an all-road bike that will be nippy whilst still being able to accommodate wide enough tyres (38c) for the kind of gravel/off-road/bridleway stuff I have where I live. It seems to sit well between Mason Definition/Resolution vs Mason Bokeh and between Fairlight Strael vs Fairlight Secan. Does this make sense? Considering about 75% of the bike would be riding on the road in winter and then off road in the summer I feel the Bokeh and Secan might be a bit over-specced for my needs and the Reolution and Strael under-specced...
Couple of questions, does it make sense to buy a frameset rather than a full build? Do you end up paying a premium for a full build over a frameset? If I just bought a frameset I would probably build up with some Light Bicycle rims and then a groupset I'd pick up either in bits and pieces or as a whole here. I already have the finishing kit that I would want to use so it seems kind of annoying to have to buy a full build only to have to sell bits and pieces straight away. Also, import duty on a 4+k full build is going to be a lot more hefty than on a 1.5 - 2k frameset.
I queried the duty with Standert and this is what they said "All our bikes and frames are finished or built here in Berlin so we declare the product as made in the EU exempting it from the 14% duty. So you would only have to pay VAT directly to the courier on delivery" so that would mean 20% on top of the 1700 euro price?

you pay a premium for a standert, no doubt :)

I vote frame only, can tailor more to what you want.
There are loads of DT Swiss ERC 42mm depth wheels about at the moment, that might be close in price to some LB. Plus you'll be able to get most bits second hand/ take offs.
Most importantly which colour??
Needs must, sometimes. If any of the above does happen, no doubt I’ll probably end up keeping the 595 frameset too and just flogging the wheels and parts. “Just in case”
