Need to see it with the wheels on but the crank should work 🤞 rotors arrived this weekend courtesy of @broken_777 a couple of bits turning up tomorrow and bb Friday so i can get the cranks on. Still waiting on mech and cassette but making steady progress

It looks a bit rough underneath the mech hanger but i don't want to leave it on so going to have a little blanking plate made to clean things up as i don't think mushroom head m5's will do it

I knocked this up at the weekend under the supervision of my father in law. It took me just over 2 and a half hours but I'm really happy with how it turned out considering it was my first time making anything. I've got some silicone dids for the front mech cable holes as well so should look nice and clean once built up.

Picked up my new wheels from DCR today.
1480g inc tape, valves and caps
David builds all my wheels this is my 10th pair from him. He's got a good reputation on here but for anyone who hasn't heard of him his wheels and service are excellent.

Cranks on and look good i think. I'm liking the black and silver theme so far. Still the last bits to put on but so far this is feeling pretty light.

Banging toptube protector.
I am all for mixing colour on builds; full black is boring and all silver too retro.
Did like the other chainring more though. Why'd you change it? -

Don't worry the cardboard is only until i tape the bars. I've put the absolute black chainring on my Argon nitrogen which is gloss black so it looks nicer on that

A few more bits on so just the internal hose and cable routing and it's up and running. I spent a bit of time this morning matting down the bottle cage so it matches the finish of the rest of the black on the bike. I think the chainset and mech match up nicely and the levers and calipers are black with silver so by my standards this one should actually look quite tasteful.

Really nicely specced, but the seatpost must go imo :) (along with anything canyon)

I'll see how it rides before making my mind up. I took it out of my super x after buying it cheap on here but the seat tube on that is pretty tall so didn't leave much post to flex and with 40psi in gravel tyres i wasn't able to feel any comfort boost from it. The clamp is nice in use though so I'm not hating on Canyon just yet except for their headsets which are unnecessary proprietary fuckery.

Impulse forum saddle purchase yesterday from @hard.hat It looks nice but i reckon it'll look great after a little spruce up. I'll go with grey to match the frame and bar tape if they have it otherwise just a refresh on the black. I went over budget a while ago so fuck it stick a custom coloured Tune saddle on it i suppose.

Give it a good long ride first if you've not tried it before. They're certainly not for everyone

Will do before i spend money on getting it re covered. I rarely have problems with saddles as long as the rest of my bike is set up properly. I hope i get on with this as it looks cool and is 170g lighter than the Dimension. If not I'll stick it on my Principia track for poserbility as i rarely ride that for more than an hour at a time.

All finished i had to get the LBS to finish it off after spending an unsuccessful afternoon fiddling about with all the internal routing. The Tune saddle may end up on here re finished with grey leather back to match but I'm trialling it on another bike for a couple of weeks before i commit as this has already gone £200-300 over my original budget. Love how it handles not loving the tops to hoods drop on the bars so far.

Had a good ride on the Tune today and it's definitely staying. 2 and a bit hours and i didn't notice it so thats good enough for me. I'll try to get the rear recovered next week.

This is one of 2 bikes I'd consider changing my rim brake roadie for (which I've had for about 10 years) I really like the 'tube profiles'.

Whats the other one? Check out the Cinelli superstar disc if you haven't already and like this. Similarly good looking bike with added Cinelli hotness.

Liking the iconoclastic approach to cranks, not something for the average buyer
