Yes WOUT!!

Chapeau Wout. Matthews lead out man came ahead of him.

Would have liked to see that without a boxed in Cav, would have been a lot more exciting.
He definitely didn't get a chance to open up but I'm not saying Wout wouldn't have still taken it.
Very disrespectful of WVA towards are Cav especially when he comes from Belgium which is where poppies come from so you'd think he'd understand the importance of not disrespecting are troops.

I was hoping for Cavendish to blitz the end HTC style, but well done Wout!
Not the best positioning or leadout from DQS this time, it looks like?

ASO will benefit from the publicity & coverage of RCav seeking No.35 in 2022.

Looked to me like Cav chose Van Aert's wheel, as opposed to any weakness in the leadout.

Looks like he boxed himself in, as his armchair ds I could see it happening. I also think earlier in his career he wouldn’t have hesitated to take it down the barriers but he hesitated twice, and you are unlikely to win at that level if you freewheel twice in the last 100m

Has anyone ever won the queen stage, the final time trial and the Champs Elysees crit before?
-
• #3111
Merckx payed him (WVA) off to box in Cavendish conspiracy theory...Belgians ganging up on 'us' because of Brexit etc etc etc
-
• #3112
Agree. He hesitated when there was clearly space.

Deport WVA !

Movistar. Nowhere in the teams classification. Disaster!
-
• #3115
For sure. Seriously the irony at all the misplaced Cav / Mercx comparisons this Tour though...

Congrats to Bahrain, Victorious in the most raided team category.

Other than the GC contest, that was one of the best TDFs in years. Cav comeback story, green jersey contest, KOM contest, lots of wins from the break, classics style racing. Really enjoyable.

No. Merckx came close-ish in 1974 but didn't win a sprint
-
• #3119
Glad WVA robbed areChav the record. What an abusive asshole.

Yep. Vingegaard is up there with Cav's comeback for me, from working in a fish factory to 2nd in the Tour in a few years is a pretty amazing story too. https://www.dr.dk/sporten/cykling/video-fisk-og-bjerge-danmarks-naeste-bjergrytter-kommer-fra-thy#!/
Also, he spends his spare time doing DIY and watching Midsomer Murders so this is a pro I can identify with!

now you have to cancel this evening’s live street performance of Rule Britannia

• #3122
lots of wins from the break
yeah, that made it fun this year

• #3123
WVA is some rider!
Quite clever holding the barrier like that. -
• #3124
Better hope I can return that bunting

I had completely forgotten MVDP was even at the race
How ab-Wout that!
