Argos minivelo , soon to be Tern

On closer inspection it looks like the heavy layer of top coat has done something to the yellow. Might just redo those patches at a later date. There are no close-up for a reason 😅

Buut this build is taking ages so I'm just going to crack on. Frame prep and wheel building next.

I remember seeing CX Rays in BMX size. That's probably taking it too far.

A mistake has been made. Wrong size BCD on the NW chainring so will need to find something else (black, 110BCD)

Hadn't even thought about spacers (doughnut) but I need at least 10cm of the stuff. Black or silver would be easiest 😏

Headset and bottom bracket are in.

I'm going to attempt to bodge a single spacer with an old bit of seatpost I have. There's just a tad more space between the ID of the spacer and the OD of the steerer than I'd like, but if it doesn't sit wonky, it'll probably stay.

Alrighty. One of the less Important things but a must have - a suitable bell.

A small, gold Crane bell seems like an obvious option. Could even get it in black. But, it's almost too obvious.

Then I looked around and found quite a basic black Bridgestone bell. It's simple but I like it, so it stays on the maybe list.

Also in my search I discovered the Mirrycle Jellibell. But the closest colour to my paint would be the turquoise-y blue which is a bit too off blue for it to suit the build. They're nice (I might get a green one for a different bike) but not for this bike.

I did have a collection of Japanese bells some years ago and I'm kicking myself for not knowing what happened to the Doraemon one I had. Would've matched the build so nicely. I can't even find an image of the one I had but I'm pretty sure it was an officially licensed product so maybe just hard to find. It could be lurking somewhere in the old boxes, but I doubt it. Ah well.

And then there's my preferred option. Overkill, but then why should I compromise when I know it's the best one? (Besides Doraemon)

What I need to do is go fully Pimp My Ride and do all the tacky bits.
But I'll save that for the first 'service' after it's built and has been ridden

For the best ding you could go Crane mini/Lionworks on a stem spacer, because lord knows you're going to have a few. Alternative is Spurcycle or similar which look better than the aero thing.

This is so rad and I really want one now. Can't wait to see it finished!
