I'd be nowhere without them...

me - I need a hvac system
Mistubishi - here you go
Depends on which branch you buy from. Always go for Mitsubishi Electric. The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ones aren't as good.
Yeah, they have two separate firms making the same thing.

Ice cream makers, anyone have a recommendation? (Or what to avoid)
-
• #130
The question seems to be, do you want an instant one, or are you happy to freeze bowl in advance.
We used to have a freeze in advance one, but whenever we fancied fresh ice cream we hadn’t got it ready, so it became a bit pointless for us.

I fear that would be my problem too.

• #132
Will be interested to see if you get any decent recommendations for an instant use one.
I have a feeling it is the sort of thing @dancing james has...

I have a kitchenaid so have contemplated the bowl that needs pre freezing. But I have the luxury of a chest freezer in my garage so have space to do that.

Weird double post

We have one.
We never use it, as we don;t have the freezer space.

We have one.
We barely use it, even though it’s taking up a lot of freezer space.

There was a bit of chat previously, the recommendation was a cuisinart one @250£ or sage @350 but not a significant improvement.
-
• #140
Yeah, you gotta make a lot of ice cream for that to pay back! Would love to justify one, but just can’t...
-
• #141
Yeah even at quite an expensive tub price it's minimum of a couple of years of ice-cream even if your ingredients don't cost anything!

I have a love hate relationship with ours, it’s good for fresh bread, but frozen bread curls and gets toasted on one side and it’s abysmal with hot x buns
-
• #143
Thankfully we don’t use much frozen bread, but being bad at hot cross buns worries me, I love a HCB...

And a shiny bin.

Thank god I had clothes on.

We've got the Sage one (bought secondhand for between £100-£150), and it's really good.
Still don't use it very much, but it's nice not having to plan 24 hours ahead and find room in the freezer for the bowl.

I plan most of my cooking about a week or so in advance. Helps with ordering food etc. When making sausages I need to freeze the mincer/stuffer.
I doubt I’d be making ice cream off the cuff so would have planned to get eggs, cream etc so getting the bowl into the freezer doesn’t look like a heavy additional task.

Have used both sage and a buffalo and previously the bowl in freezer type.
Get the sage or the buffalo, the 45 minute cycle (if that) means you can batch a literal tonne and store it.
The bowl in freezer means 1 flavour and that’s it.
Oh and you keep your freezer space for the ice cream you then make. -

Hmm, very valid points.
All the massive east Asian conglomerates are pretty interesting. Particularly Hyundai and Samsung.
The Korean family businesses, where pretty much all the CEOs are charged for bribery and corruption. I mean how else do they get hugely successful in all industries during a military dictatorship and get relatives in all the key positions?
