Believe it or not, this is actually what he was looking at before he ever asked me! Maybe I should have just kept my opinions to myself but personal pride says that after bombarding the guy with a tonne of way more exciting and interesting options I can't back down so easily. As things stand I think he's quite taken by the Factor which was one of my first suggestions. But yes, give it a few days and I can put in another word for the Look.

Just read the thread from the start.. @amey original point re the Aethos... LBS had a couple on the floor. They are relatively unassuming in the carbon.

In case anyone was wondering, a decision has been made and the below is apparently arriving with one lucky spender in April. For all my reservations about the rationale behind this the result is actually quite appealing (though I would have chosen DA groupset any day). Hopefully he'll let me have a go.

Correct. Looks as if they have a black on black decal that caught the light. Though Factor has a history of hollowing out channels in carbon tubes - remember the downtube on one of their first models?

He's got him self a dream bike that he wanted and will be hugely happy with it and thats what counts really.

I'm still amazed at spending the dough on 1 bike instead of 2 or 3 though!

Surprisingly he opted out on this. He told me it was "overkill". I kept my mouth shut.
