Moved to done:
*Raise the saddle 1cm
*Tilt the saddle down
*Change the pedals to a pair of spd-es520
*BDHU...( It's not perfect but it works. Might HU a bit when it's time for bulkier glowes)
*Wrap bars
*Move two spacers above stem
*Cut fork steerer
*Get Conti Terra Hardpack on a pair of DT Swiss P1850**Left:
*Get fenders that clears the Terra hardpacks (50mm). I think I'll go for GB 60mm, depending on what my not so L BS in Gothenburg quotes me.Impressions:
I love the bike and I think about it quite a bit. I've started using on my commute to be able ride it more.
Still really happy with the Archer/10 spd XT combo. The thought of just needing to swap cassette/derailleur/chain to change the gearing is somehow soothing.Sorry for the crap photos, also couldn't find any good brick walls around.

Mm, singular, always wanted one, yours is lovely. How do you feel about terra hardpacks? Considering between these and wtb byway for spring/summer season gravel rides.
-

Like that very much. Not sure about the gear shift box, shame they don't do little blip buttons, summat a bit more discreet.

I haven't tried the WTB, but I'd say that the hardpacks are really good, especially considering the cost - so maybe worth trying because of that?
They were easy to set up tubeless also. The 1850 are only 18mm wide but it's still a good feel.

Thanks!
Archer components have shifters that can be integrated in the right Hylex lever and it's all modular, so I'm thinking that as soon as it becomes available on this side of the pond I'll give it a go.
They also have an option that's similar to the the SRAM blip box for AXS. -

That sounds pretty cool, be nice to have them on the brake lever.

After hearing rumours about that the machine that makes the 60mm fenders at Giles Berthoud had broken and having received some funds from selling my Litespeed Catalyst, I decided to buy some relatively expensive french fenders.

Yeah and it would be really neat/inconspicuous when running it SS, which might be the case when the start putting road salt on bike lanes here in Stockholm.

Yesh, that's very true. I think i'll look in to those : )

Added GB 60 mm mudguards. It wasn't the easiest thing I've done and I was at times pretty close to doing something drastic...
In the beautiful future I'll add some mudflaps that I have on another set of guards ( or I might make new ones, but in that case I plan on using the ones my not -so-local LBS made as a template).

Looks stunning, especially with the flush guards.
Not sure about the electronic wotsit hanging off the chainstay tho…
-

Thanks!
I agree that the wotsit doesn't look that good, it's suppose to look like in the pictures below. I'm more and more inclined to do something about it, maybe not for the gram, but because of heel rub.

Even cooler with the mudguards, lovely bike!

Does it work well?
-

Thanks @veLLo, I really like it and it gets me out because it can handle both studded tyres and the single track close to home.
@Tijs the Archer works really well, I can reach the shifters from the hoods so that's good.
The mechanics and shifting is good, battery life so far so good (normal AA and AAA batteries work in a cinch).
The only thing I can complain about is that I haven't figured out how to re-connect it with the app to adjust the gears after changing wheel/cassette. That's probably my lack of commitment and incompetence in play rather than the Archer hardware and software.
Also newer shifters have the option to micro adjust from the shifters, and I plan on getting new ones that are designed for the Hylex

Spending a school break at the in-laws in Vaasa Finland. Finally got the frame/bike I built in Roubaix 90% done (still forgot to bring a PM/FM adapter...)
Schwalbe Hurricane is a very versatile tire I'd say. Hard to compare it to the Conti hardpacks that I have on the Peregrine, as they are 50mm run tubeless on 18 mm rims and heavier wheels and these are 57mm so far run with tubes on 25mm internal rims on lighter wheels. So far the Schwalbe combination feels better. I was hoping to get away with using the Hurricanes when I come here for Christmas (I'll probably bring a studed tire for the front)
Anedotical BB7s still working really good (I can't even think of all the braking I'll be able to do with two of them!)

That's very cool. Did you do the paint?
I agree that BB7s are great once set up well. I have to say that a barrel adjuster could be very handy for fine adjustments at the end of set-up but once you've put the time in, they are great.

I recently discovered how powerful the reach adjust on brake levers can be when using BB7s. I think it's the same thing they use on Avid Speed Dial levers, but adjusting to a shorter reach on the caliper can significantly sharpen the bite point.

Yeah I did it with Montana Gold cans based on an old Kuwahara MTB/BMX (can't remember wich) that I really liked and had bought cans for maybe 4 years ago. Splatter is a very forgiving paint scheme.

Love the paint job! I might have missed it somewhere, but what’s the story behind the frame?

Added GB 60 mm mudguards
If you're going off road I'd recommend adding an extra stay on the tip of the front guard, I found that made a tremendous difference on them vibrating around.

Good point! I've also found that the cork spacer and bolt needs to be tightened after a while

Thanks, I went to a great frame building course in Roubaix over Easter at La Fraise cycles. Highly recommended, there's a somewhat un-structured thread about it;

Took a short loop that I have wanted to explore for a while, but have been hesitant to try out on my old Giant Cadex 25mm, which was previously my sole bike at the in-laws.
A pair of fenders and a bit more flair would have been nice on the second SFAB part of the ride. The hurricanes were great though.

I couldn't agree more, so far it has really delivered on my expectations. I also have a Swift previously, so I was quite confident that it would be a good match.
