I only realised yesterday that Eurosport have added about 9 new channels for their Olympic coverage. Never saw it mentioned in any promo or advertising.

Kirby on the Ita/Den ride was painful. Like he was squeezing a full day of TdF word play into less than 4 minutes.

I think I remember that the UCI had to drop some events
to allow BMX/MTB medals.

You’ve pretty much explained the details here. The UCI wanted to add BMX and MTB to the Olympics, partly because it would affirm their position as the global governing body for both, and the only way the IOC would approve it was if athlete numbers remained the same. That meant some events had to be ditched so we lost the IP and the Kilo.

It might also be unwatchable for you, but Epic TV were doing an 'alternate' commentary on YT.

Shame for Shauna Coxsey not to qualify but it is her first competition back from injury. What's really interesting is to see Janja Garnbret showing some (relative) weakness!

Why didn't they fuck off one of the myriad shit sports? Horse molesting or cruising around on a boat, ribbon twiddling or fucking soccerball or golf! Golf isn't even a fucking sport!

Interesting question - I think the answer is one, a solo sailing gold.
Everything else was on wheels, submerged in water or involved four or more feet.

It was and still is the wrong decision and I will go to my grave thinking it.

I do however appreciate the freestyle bmx inclusion. I can't even wheelie these days but I love that shit and have done since Matt Hoffman was doing big air shit back in the 80s.

Diving kinda starts that way. Not sure what the target was but considering the cycling and rowing teams are underperforming i think team GB are doing well. Nice to see us doing well in some new sports with a broader range of backgrounds taking part.
