I think the journalist for that article is writing for the Guardian Australia. Their coverage probably showed it.

That’s the quality of the Olympic Broadcast Service. It used to be that each of the major tv nations (UK, US etc) used to send a team to the olympics and each would be responsible for covering one event as the host country would not have the resources to cover everything. Now IOC want absolute control…

Boo IOC. Would have at least thought you could bring some commentators on board for a week or two who actually know anything about the sport, but this doesn't seem to be a Eurosport requirement.
