I think respacing is totally doable. Obviously best done by a pro, but you should be able to do it with a bit of research

Thanks again. Lets see what they offer me tomorrow. I'm in Klitmøller alot normally. But not in the next few weeks :/
Since I'm in a bad mood I took my Peugeot for a spin. The world can be so easy!

I couldn't wait and had a look around my workshop. A threaded rod, 2 nuts some leather washers and 5 minutes later everything is alright.
Need to wait for the new rotors to arrive and check alignment but it looks good for the moment.

Off topic, but is that a Friesland flag in the corner?
-
• #56
Yes it is! Good eyes there!
I'm east frisian myself and a few years back we had aa bet playing Fifa. If i could beat a friend of mine who was pretty good in the game with Heerenven we buy a flag for the flat. And I won. Also we just quite like it as a flag.

So, today I started to set up the shifting. I set the high and low screws, adjustet B-Gap all acording to SRAM instructions. Everything shifts good and smooth so far. The only problem i got is with the 42. It wont stay. It will click up for a second and immediately come back down. I tried a bit. Reinstalled the derailleur, reattached cable, readjusted screw sometime but it wont work.
So I think it could be an issue with the chain line? Since it seems to be because of the sideways pressure. I got the DA Crankset, chainring is on the outside. Did I make a mistake in assuming the normal BB of 113mm here, since I haven't got 2x?
Do I need another BB or is there a solution I just don't see here?

12 x 135 was a shit standard as there was nothing to locate the hub whilst you fumbled with the axle, and also the axle took all the load. Was quickly replaced by 142 x 12 about 10 years ago.
Hope still do 135 x 12 adaptors for Pro2 evo/Pro4.

Cant answer this, but your resilience and persistence on this build is awesome. Well done!

Maybe it’s something else I don’t see here.
This is the furthest I can press the derailleur in. Low screw all the way out. In videos they can nearly put it in the spikes.

More importantly, why the hell would a modern bike still come with 135/12. There was, and still is, no point to its existence. This is weird. I'd go on a limb here and say they're chatting shit and the frame is wonky.
If not, its such a bizzare decision. -

Well I fixed it. Most probably the frame was a little bit bent. 142x12 is right and fixed now.
I took a video for better understanding. It’s a Rival 1 1x11 with the long cage. Something with the eyelet?

Really glad. Salutes for powering through this.
How's the derailleur situation. That hanger bolt doesn't look like it's threaded very far in? Doesn't look like you need much to push it to 42t. Maybe the hanger is a tad too chunky and was never tested with a SRAM derailleur? -

Maybe I could mill down the hanger. But that’s not really what I want to have to do here. I think this will be my first and last Veloci frame.

I already disassembled everything so I can’t check it now. But the H screw is nearly all the way in. So yeah, it could overshoot a good bit to the outside.
Now the thing is to find another hanger or mill this one down.
Remember when I wrote I bought the frame to make everything plug and play and don’t hassle with a 90s 650b conversion?
Well f...

Agreed and cant be 135 x 12 with that shoulder on the drop out as would foul small cog. Hence my thought drop outs squeezed or boost/142 conversion drop outs fitted by mistake. Either way its Planet X levels of shittyness for the OP to deal with. It really is terrible that Veloci Cycle fobbed the OP back to the shop on this.

I bought the frame to make everything plug and play
And so it should be. My first 142 x 12 frame was my Turner Sultan in 2012 and it did my head in, at the time but now its just a normal standard. Think you have been incredibly patient with this. I would have thrown it back at the bike shop by now to sort out with Veloci Cycle. The problem with something like this is that it takes tremendous effort for it not to sour your feelings for the frame. Well done again for perseverance.

I contacted Veloci again on this matter yesterday. They answered me that they already told me to consult my dealer and it’s not different with this problem now. Also they state that the frame works perfect with Sram. I also gave them a link to this thread if they decide to help. I like to support smaller companies especially when the products look so good. And 4K Views ob lfgss could ruin it for them a bit. So I hope they will take the chance and bring things straight. Still eager to build this beauty up.
So will contact the shop today, which is a very good one. But they have absolutely no time (understandably, people are crazy atm) but after 6 weeks I just want to ride it.
And my patience comes with my laziness and all the parts I got and can’t give back because they are already fitted and bought to the standards of this frame.

Fuck Veloci for fobbing you off like this!
They’ve lost any goodwill or hint of future custom from me off the back of this.
Hope you get this sorted and get to ride the bike soon, the project looks great. Have you tried unmounting the derailleur, sleeping on it, then re-mounting with a fresh mind? Maybe a tab is misaligned or caught somewhere?
-

Well they answered me again now. Still I have no big hurt feelings since I can adapt most of this.
Also I can understand how annoying it might be if customers write you because something doesn’t work. Bike shops are there to do that and help. But I think these problems are just special.
I adapted the hanger now with some manual Labour, since the milling machine is broken.
Will try it out when I’m back home.

Interesting build. I look forward to seeing it come together!

Thanks! I just have to wait for the dust caps of the front wheel and then it's time for a test ride! After 6 weeks, i can't wait.
Worked pretty well. Even though I'm not sure it was 100% the right way here.

'Back to 80's' should've tipped you off.
Hanger looks legit though! Good to see stubbornness and impatience pay off.

Haha thats right, thank you!
Somehow the 6 months of filing down steel and shit had to pay off :D
Thank you! Since it's a steel frame I thought about maybe bending it back to the required 142mm if there's no replacement frame. But I'm not sure if it will be easily possible with through axles and disc brakes. Especially since I have no rigging stand or something. And there's no LBS around with good knowledge.
