Bought ‘vegan’ Birkenstock’s without realising as such but getting some serious heat rash off them under the straps in the heat. This a thing ? Compared to no vegan leather ones? Or am I just sweaty footed?

Not sure I agree with others. I wear mine here in Los Angeles every day and it’s 35° at the moment. They’re definitely not as bad as other sandals I have had from the likes of Yuketen. But ultimately not as good as a Birkenstock from a sweat absorption perspective.
Edit: less humid here than England though.

How can I find these - are they online?
-

Coop here in Sweden sells croc knock-offs for around a fiver. They’re pretty good but now I am wondering if I should upgrade to the real ones 🤷🏻♂️

I expect there would be little difference, they are just moulded plastic after all.

Real Crocs are croslite.

I was wanting an upgrade on my cheapo Decathlon sandals recently and went to Tiso (not sure if Tiso is a nationwide thing or just up here?) and tried on some Tevas but they were all way too wide for me.
The width of the Decathlon's is one of the things I was wanting to get away from but they Teva were worse.
Tried some of the basket front Keen sandals and they felt better but they are (imo) hideous. Think they do some more sandl-y sandals so might try them.
Foot tan is progressing nicely. I've barely worn shoes since about April. Can get awy with wearing sandals at work and I picked up some spd ones a month or so ago so can even get the wind in my toes when riding fixed.

Beautiful toe formation. The Keen terraport 2 look great to me.
Ideally I would love a Birkenstock croc clog with a heel strap and a bunch of holes.

The Quoc x Restrap sandals arrived here today. They fit very nice and have a strong "orthopedic birkenstocks" vibe. We're going to be friends i guess.

Those aren't the Decathlon ones I have, the ones I have are £27 now but definitely worth it

I'm on my 2nd set but only because the first pair I had were a size too large, they weren't wearing out or anything.
I do also have a pair of Teva's now which are really nice. There's a bit less to the Tevas so they are even more open and breathable.

Ah cheers. How did you find the tevas size-wise?

Depending what you want them for, if it's just pottering about town/park/beach any cheap sandal will be adequate, but if you wanna go a little further afield, and maybe go hiking in them, spend some money, and look at sandals with toe post straps rather than cross foot straps, Luna and Bedrock are excellent, Luna probably easier to get hold of in the UK.

Pretty good. Still quite wide but I think that I just have to deal with that.

Anyone got recommendations for minimal/barefoot sandals? Seem to remember having a conversation with someone (on here?) about Xero shoes & sandals a while back. I like my Vivobarefoot shoes (Ra) and thought I might branch out into some sandals also.

Original Bedrocks.

Bedrocks are fantastic, I had to stop wearing mine when I developed Plantar Fasciitis. Still gutted.
I believe they're working on a version with proper arch support, will defo get mine resoled if that's the case.

Ta both. They look spot-on. Have looked for stockists. Assume we have to order from US, now pannier.cc says it has ceased supply? Can’t find any UK stores (or EU ones with stock)? But my GoogleFu isn’t what it was.

It looks like it. I’m now in Canada and exceedingly lucky that one of my local bike shops actually stocks them. That said - the size guide is pretty spot so you just need to print it out figure it out from there.
No, very sweaty
