Made in Languedoc,
very durable,
vegetable tanned leather
they start their 3d summer.
No smell on sweaty feets.
I wear them constantly.
Cycling round there is bliss. -

I have two pairs of Birkenstock Arizona in different sizes - one for socks and one for bare feet.
From photos of a friend's young teenagers, to be on trend this summer you need old school flip-flops with long white socks.
I can confirm that this has been the case for the last 2-3 years - passively stoned dog optional...

The blistering is only in the top of my feet, where the edges of the straps rub against it.
I'm thinking I'll try to break them in wearing a thin pair of socks to avoid blisters. In the meantime I have developed a fondness for the looks of these from duckfeet. Vegetable tanned leather should develop a very beautiful patina over time, and they are easily resoleable!

As a longtime sandal fan, I've been bombarded by friends showing me that Shimano have reintroduced their legendary SPD sandals in Navy for a 25th Birthday celebration. I've used spd sandals before and loved them, never got on with the Keen version mind.
Personally it's Teva all the way, esp the Alp heritage models and of course, Birkenstock. Arizona, Zurich and 2 pairs of Boston - one wool and one leather. Birkenstock Mains are also fantastic

Teva don't seem to be making the Alp anymore.
Choice between Hurricane and Terra Fi.

If you shop around you can find them, esp on eBay

I've ordered a pair of Hurricane. Will see how I get on with those.

I've been lusting after a pair of Bedrocks for a while, as soon as it started warming up down here I pulled the trigger on a pair... Very happy with them! Pasty white foot alert...

I’ve taken a punt on these https://www.brandosa.com/se/product/myre-ep-light-brown
I like the idea of this sole on a jeezuz creeper and I think they’ll look better if it wears down like redwings

and I will have these delivered today -
Never spent this much on a pair of sandals before but I'm desperate to be allowed admittance to the Golf Club so ...

They look decent.
Last year, I bought a pair of Teva which are pretty good but I much prefer the Birkenstock footbed. Teva get a bit slidey.

Standards Teva can be hard work if a bit wobbly after a few too many. I’m after the alp version but can’t seem to find in my size.

Who makes SPD sandals? Shimano, Exustar, are there any others? I thought there were more available to the german trekking market
-

I have these ones - they are not bad for walking in but the plastic footbed can get a bit slippy when wet or sweaty feet.

Keen and Lake used to, but a quick search suggests they're discontinued.

Kavat sandals have arrived. Loving them

A month later and the kavat sandals are looking pretty battered. The leather doesn’t buff up very well and the white redwing esq soles look terrible after a few hours. A shame.
I’ve been wearing fake crocs from coop more. Loving them apart from them getting a bit sweaty in hot weather. Are the real ones any better?
Knitted Tabi socks by my mom and Bedrocks is my new favourite. Birkenstocks quickly start to develop quite an ugly smell when paired with my sweaty feet. The EVA ones get torn apart by pedal pins.
