I had some of those Misirlou bars. They are really nice.

Seven has been built and is in California. Should be at the shop tomorrow and maybe built up by the weekend. Maybe
Exciting, have you let them know a forum needs build photos? :D

• #155
Turbo Cottons are fantastic with latex tubes.
-

Well, I have all of the components other than the cranks, so I’ll be dropping it all off at the shop on Friday, staying in a hotel on Friday night for a little trip away and Craig will hopefully have it built by Saturday afternoon. He’s made no guarantees though. So I may have to drive back up to LA empty handed.
I’ll have some photos of the naked frame come Friday at least.

This bike needs FMB open tubulars
-
• #158
There’s a guy selling a pair of CK / Nemesis on the paceline for $375. I’ve never been so tempted to buy tubs in my life. Then I could have actual FMB tubulars 😎
But I’m not going to. I know I’d hate myself for the hassle.

fuck it, do it
you can always change the rims at a later date

Also campag freehub so would have to run campag cassette which I know I could do but I the cost of cassettes is too high.
Gonna just stick with what I have till I can afford what I actually want. (Not CK)
-
• #161
could you swap the free hub to something civilised?
-
• #162
Yes. For $308. Lol.

@Señor_Bear - one Turbo Cotton is the same price as two Corsa 2.0’s - they also never go on sale, which Corsa’s always do, so I ordered Corsa’s instead. Maybe a faux pas but I can’t imagine Corsa’s are bad, and certainly will be better than the Schwalbe’s I’ve been riding. Have only read good things about them.

Do try the Turbo Cottons in the future they're super super lush, plush, grippy etc - They do come up new or very lightly used on ebay a decent amount for a good price so have a mosey.
-
• #166
Yeah I definitely will. I’ve been very superfluous with this build when I originally said I wouldn’t be, so trying to save a bit where I can.
-
• #167
Tires ain't the place to save.
-
• #168
I’ve got shimano freehubs if you need them...
Edit - what about Open Pave? 👍🏻👍🏻 -
• #169
Na. Need gumwalls for this. Though I do love an Open Pave.
You don’t just need a freehub though, you need an entirely different axle, so it’s cost prohibitive. Thanks though!

What @Señor_Bear said. Tyres are only contact between you and ground. You just got a hell of a build, don't skimp on tyres.
I'm biased towards Challenge tyres, but Turbos are lovely. -
• #171
Yeah, I’ve got axles too, and bearings and end caps etc... but you’re right - I’m not bothering with CK again... Hope will do 👍🏻
-
• #172
Well, I’ve ordered Corsa’s now so Turbo’s will have to wait. They’re still $70 tyres, just so happens that Vitoria haven’t embargoed retailers from discounting them, unlike Specialized.
@mattyc - yeah, exactly. I’m gonna go White Industries. Trying to keep as much stuff as Made in the USA as possible without spending silly money.
-
• #173
Y'all talking like Corsa's aint great tyres, which they are.
-
• #175
Nah, they're hard and puncture prone. Absolute bag of shit to get on wide rims too.
@Señor_Bear I was considering Corsa 2.0's.
Turbo Cottons? You using standard butyl, lightweight or latex?
