How long have they been up there? Heard a ghettobird above our place in Leyton last night and initially I thought "oh shit if that's on it's way to St Thomas' then things have escalated".
As it happens it stayed overhead so was obviously responding to some bullshit round my way.

Well jell of your legitimate use of ‘ghetto bird’ in a sentence
-
• #9786
Barely legitimate since we're in Leyton as opposed to downtown LA but I've been sitting on that one for a while I guess.

UK quietly accepts EU help to repatriate people and help for businesses.
Now for the ventilators/health help I guess...still no idea why Boris said no to that

Breakdown of the ICNARC data in a nice graph - 50% mortality so far if you’re admitted to ITU, 60% if you’re ventilated within the first 24 hrs.

My colleagues gf works in a hospital here in Sweden in a separate ward and not in direct contact with corona patients. But one of her patients got tested positive for covid after a test. She had been caring for the patient without proper PPE for several days and requested to get a test herself, but nope, those were only available for patients and the head of the hosptital. She was asked to keep working, and report sick as usual if she began to have symptoms. Many of her patients are in a risk zone. Wtf.

Think Hancock will take advantage of Boris's incapacitation to ask if he can take them back up on the offer?
-
• #9795
That would be great, he actually did ask for the help.
But to go behind the bosses' back like that would be unusual in any political party/company...

That’s pretty wack, I thought medical staff were getting tested in Sweden?

Having family both in China and Germany, the main difference in treatment seems to be that people are taken to hospital much earlier in those countries than here. Usual caveat, this is purely anecdotal etc but seems to make sense given that people are advised to basically sweat it out here until it gets much worse, as in Boris’ case.

I read an article where Sweden's Anders Tegnell, when asked why Sweden had a disproportionately higher death rate than its neighbours, answered that some countries were just ahead of others in the course of the epidemic.
Those backwards neighbours with their tiny death rates .... just trying to catch up with Sweden, who are leading the way as usual.
Tonight?
Oh lord
