You can go back to work while waiting for the result is the way I read the new rules.

Yes, am in France, QR code was working for the attraction we went to.
Went to a French vide Grenier on Sunday (car boots sale) as well. Absolutely heaving with people, but mandatory masks for everyone above 5 years old.
Everyone was wearing one, though plenty of personal space invasions. -

Had to come to France for a few days. Heading back and now need book a day 2 test before flying. Price range of the various providers on gov website is pretty big, starting from £20 which im inclined to go with…
Anyone done one and recommend a particular provider for any reason?
EDIT, just seen nwp and Dante labs recommended a couple of pages back for £40. Will try those but shout if any others.

Not recommend, just the one the GF used. All you need is proof and if it doesn't turn up you get a 'free' nhs test.

I’ve clicked on the £20 ones and inevitably they’re not actually £20 when you drill down. Dante looks fine to me and seems to be the cheapest recommended provider on this site so that’ll do and you’ve helped. Merci.

I used Dante. Was fine if a little slow arriving/getting results.

Did you drop off using priority boxes and still took a few days?

After seeing photos of the commons this week, I wonder if there’ll be a lot of MPs catching it.
-
• #23261
Yes priority. Dropped off same time as wife but one of us results always slower or once didn't come.

You can go back to work while waiting for the result is the way I read the new rules.
You’re right, the company I work for want to be on the safe side by making sure I have a negative instead of going to work with a possibility of a positive result as people who have been pinged are 4 times likely to get the virus.
Government guidelines need to be taken with a pinch of salt (as in do a bit more than less in protecting everyone).

I had a positive PCR 12 days ago, so have now done my 10 days of isolation. Is there any way I be confident that I am not infectious?
I read that you shouldn't test with either PCR or LF for 90 days which I am guessing is because you can still test positive even if you are not contagious

Have a look at Q6 here: https://www.ons.gov.uk/surveys/informationforhouseholdsandindividuals/householdandindividualsurveys/covid19infectionsurveycis/howyourresultswillbeused#testing-positive-repeatedly-in-the-study
(It's from the ONS study FAQ but it will apply generally...)

Sit rep: Absolutely wiped out the past three days after getting the positive PCR on Tuesday. Aching all over and congestion like I've never had before, the kind that just sits right behind your eyes, makes your nose run like a tap and leaves you feeling miserable. It's hit my chest as well, I'm getting short of breath just doing menial tasks. I quite naively did not expect it to hit me this hard being an otherwise healthy, double-jabbed 35 year old.

Crap. Hold tight and hopefully will pass.
It took me a week to get through. (42yr old git)
Sugary fluids and lemsip to stay on top of temp.
We also got a pulse oximeter cheap off Bezos world. (Peace of mind)
Basically if it starts to go below 90 % u need to think about the boys in blue.
They are only a tenner.

My partner, who has asthma, got it worse than me but bounced back after a week. She had spiky temp and kept waking up in the middle of the night completely drenched in sweat.
Despite feeling like I'm burning up at times, I've not registered anything above 37.2C so that's a bit weird.
Good shout on the pulse oximeter, might get one just in case.

Re temp that is good news.
Means your body can fight it relatively well AFAIK.
When I had the original last year I was similar.

At a guess, you all have read about Richard Fairbrass natural cure for covid being hospitalisation and oxygen...so is this the definition of an oxygen thief?
This person is getting media attention, while people who have died are little more than a number. Actually makes me so sad and angry.

Switzerland Passenger Locator form: 30 seconds.
UK Passenger Locator Form: 10 Minutes.
At least the UK one didn't insist that I give the ages of the children I don't have this time!

I think a lot of places who are calling people back might be waiting till after the summer holidays - at least that's what our place is doing.
-
• #23274
Yep, start of September at my place too. I was expecting a ramping up before that but if anything the office is actually quieter at the moment than previously.

Where I work a lot of people weren't booking much annual leave so to avoid everyone being off for all of December we have to take at least half by the end of this month. Lots of people not in at the moment as a result.
Just saw that, was a mite puzzled, doing the PCR test to confirm I can go back to work, as work aren’t taking risk of shutting shop again.
