Because flat earth?

And, given the general record of competence, from governments of all persuasions, regarding large scale projects/costing them/handling data well, how on (flat) earth would any of them manage to pull off a gigantic hoax? Or is that what they want us to think

None of the links from that page work for me.
How long to self-isolate You should self-isolate for at least 10 days.
You may need to self-isolate for more than 10 days if you get symptoms
while self-isolating or your symptoms do not go away.Which leads you to here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/how-long-to-self-isolate/
How long you need to self-isolate If you've tested positive and
you have symptoms – self-isolate for 10 days from when your symptoms
started you have not had symptoms – self-isolate for 10 days from when
you had the test If you get symptoms while you're self-isolating, the
10 days restarts from when your symptoms started. When to stop self-isolating You can stop self-isolating after 10 days
if either:you do not have any symptoms you just have a cough or changes to your
sense of smell or taste – these can last for weeks after the infection
has gone When to keep self-isolating Keep self-isolating if you have
any of these symptoms after 10 days:a high temperature or feeling hot and shivery a runny nose or sneezing
feeling or being sick diarrhoea Only stop self-isolating when these
symptoms have gone.If you have diarrhoea or you're being sick, stay at home until 48
hours after they've stopped. What if the dry cough hasn't stopped? As in the GF case. Which came on after the test results arrived. As GF is stopping self isolating tonight as the app told her she can.
Should she get another test, number 3, to confirm no covid?

Sounds like cough alone isn't enough to keep isolating. I'd probably get another test though. Be nice to have the confirmation it's actually gone.

Yeah that what I was thinking for the GF. She has early onset parkinsons so you'd think she cares.
I'm trying to convince her not to go out till at least after new year, can't even convince her to cover her mouth when she coughs. She is a covidiot. As mentioned before.
EDIT: she was given 7 daysworth of antibiotics as she had kidney pain, from not drinking fluids IMO as she didn't pee for at least 2 days either, so far she has taken two. She has a history of getting anti biotics and either not taking them correctly or not taking them at all. Or not finishing the course. Tried to help and even told he parkinsons nurse but that cause a big row as I was telling on her!

has goneI don't know your full situation, but it seems like if she has already tested positive, and now just has a cough, she should be ok to stop quarantining.
But if you live together and you have recently tested positive, it might be a different set of rules.

I suspect the test I took, self adminstered at a test center was wrong. Think it was wrong as didn't do the right swabbing as GF was 'helping me' and didn't read the instructions.
EDIT What i am trying to do is stop gf going out to infect others. But then am I being controlling?
-
• #18814
Ah ok, I think user error might be more likely to accidentally cause a negative result, rather than a positive. But it sounds like getting another test might be a good idea.
You are doing the right thing by trying to prevent your gf infecting others, but I can totally appreciate the difficulties of essentially asking someone to put themselves under house arrest, and from what you've said it sounds especially challenging with the Parkinsons. If she has a test and it comes back positive then at least you will have a more solid reasoning. Tough thing to go through over christmas/NYE too.

If you're in Tier 4 then even if she's advised to come out of isolation she should still not come into contact with anyone outside her household.
-
• #18816
Easy for us, her family in France my parents are dead and brother that if he died tomorrow he had more live than he deserved.
Christmas is all about nice food and drink, as I am the cook that hasn't happened.

Ah Tier 4, does not cover her. She almost got arrested for going to a private gathering of 30 odd people. During the pre christmas lockdown.
How can you fight that ignorance?

After a self administered test at a test center and dropping in to A&E as I was coughing up fresh blood. Today I tested positive on a rapid test.
That doesn’t sound good. Whereabouts are you and is there anything any of us can do to help? (Even if it’s a paracetamol run and poke it through your letterbox)
Edit: sounds like you’re basically ok but offer still stands.

I don't know dude but if you're calling your girlfriend ignorant and a covidiot on a forum you've probably either got some soul searching to do or need to step away from the keyboard.
You're both sick. Ultimately there's not much you can do to change your gf's behaviour. If I were you I'd just advise what she should be doing and look after myself. What other option is there?

Commiserations mate. A dear friend of the family in Texas was a full-blown, MAGA-hat wearing, covid denier; not unusual for Texas except he’s a friggin’ A&E department head with +30 years experience.
Or at least he was an A&E doctor, last I heard around November he was at home miserable with, you guessed it, covid-19. He was still a trump supporter then (he’s also half Mexican...).
It’s more than just ignorance, problem is no one seems to know what else it is. Is it fear? Abject denial? Fuck knows. I do agree with @Stonehedge in that you might want to consider a break from the keyboard, for your own mental health (edit-saying that with the best intentions, no condescension). Maybe a notebook or an email/text to Samaritans if you need to let the anger out?

I know a ambulance paramedic, who is somehow also a Covid-19 conspiracy nut...
They have been unfriended on Facebook because of all the rubbish posts. -

anecdotally, quite a lot of people I know have had or have Covid at the moment, anyone else finding that?
Was on a zoom with mates and 3 of 6 has had covid (2 in the last couple of months), I havn't yet but just seems to be a matter of time at the moment, all a bit worrying.
At a guess you will too shortly.
