  • Occupational hazard if living in Dunsinane.......

"When shall we three meet again, in Thunder, Lightning, or in Rain? When the Hurley-burley's done, and when people from more than 2 households can meet socially? Pass the eye of Salmond..."

  • Im part of the ONS survey at the moment. Genuinely think it might be a mistake as feel absolutely normal.

  • This is what is meant by the term "asymptomatic".

  • Hope it stays that way, Jimm, and that you test negative soon.

  • I’ve just phoned up the ONS as can’t get hold of the person who contacted me yesterday as I want to ask a few questions and track and trace haven’t contacted me. They told me to book an NHS test as they can’t get hold of the testing company either, I’m tempted...

  • Btw, this isn’t to get out of isolation or anything like that as will continue to do so, genuinely concerned/ interested as to whether I have it.

  • I did an NHS test last week, it was really easy. Took me an hour from looking online to organise it to being back home again having done it. Results took 36 hours.

  • On the flip side to @aggi experience, my wife took a NHS test monday at 9.30am, and we are still waiting on results, she rang yesterday and was told that most results are taking five days, so call back Friday afternoon.

I'm a little surprised there is no way for key worker tests to be fast tracked, she is a teacher, so essentially missing a week of school for this, and she is not the only one in the school currently off waiting for results. Slow results really does disincentivise people from taking a test in the first place...

  • Have we had this yet? Thought it was an outstanding piece of science writing: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2020/11/09/how-the-coronavirus-hacks-the-immune-system

  • I wasn’t allowed to say anything until today, but it's now okay for me to share that I volunteered for the Covid-19 vaccine trials that St. Vincents were running in partnership with Pfizer. It's important that we all do our part to beat this virus! The vaccine is essentially the same as the one that was developed in Russia. I received my first dose this morning 06:20 am, and I wanted to let you know that it’s completely safe, with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι я чувю себя немного стрно и я думю, что вытл осные уши. чувству себя немго страо.

  • didnt realise I was on facebook

  • I spoke to the person who rang me yesterday again, he told me there wasn’t a mistake and they are generally pretty accurate, he thought 98% but to get another test if I wanted to double check. ONS said they are switching to track and trace informing people if they tested positive on ONS but I’m on the overlap, good job as I’ve heard nothing from T&T yet.

I’ve been for a drive through test at the city stadium in Manchester, crazy amount of infrastructure and people working there and really easy to get a test.

  • Results are pretty quick too, wife has had 2 now.

  • As opposed to negative ONS tests:-

    • Test: 2nd Nov
    • Letter dated: 9th Nov
    • Letter arrives: 12th Nov

Mrs GB got hers today too but we didn't get one for MiniGB. All 3 came at the same time last time.

  • Aghhhh how is everyone else getting results so quickly from their NHS tests?!

  • Just got track and traced, solid 36hrs after getting positive result.

  • In my experience this has been the average. I can understand errors in location and proximity calculations, but why so long to receive a notification?

  • There is a new record of 33k tested infections today, shouldn't this be the time to see if the lockdown
    is working?

  • aren't these by and large all the blithering cockwits that went out for one last night on the lash the week before the most recent lockdown kicked in?

  • oh yeah, maybe.

  • Are they just using letters to communicate this ?

  • For negative results, yes. Although the first 6 or 7 results only went to my GP and I was only have to see them because I have online access to my medical records. Wife and daughter couldn't see theirs as their GP doesn't show scanned documents on their medical record(s).

Jimm got a call from the ONS within 2 days to tell say it was a positive result.

To be fair, the ONS study results are part of a study, the primary goal isn't to give individuals test results (unless they need to be told they are positive).

  • Don’t talk about me like that!

*I genuinely haven’t been to the pub, cafe or gym since we moved to the tier system.

  • I got a call from the company that processes the tests within 48hrs (not ONS) and track and trace the following day after that.
