I’ve had lots of enquiries about the Cannondale but no definite takers yet. Going to put a proper sales ad up later today.

Jeez that looks like a big gear for the peaks! What you running?

A really lovely bike

Thanks, it's a pleasure to ride.

Ah just seen this. Bike looks great, so nice to see it being used again.
Fair play for getting through HDITP on it!

I was a bit apprehensive going into it as I hadn't ridden it more than 10km beforehand. It handled it fine however, even with the ridiculous luggage setup.

Scored a cheap pair of Tune hubs for the Waterford in a dubious anodised blue. Might clash horrendously with the frame but it's been a while since I built any wheels and it’ll give me something to do. Inspiration below.

Came across this - undoubtedly the same frame. Not much info unfortunately but I'm digging the pink highlights.

Factory Five Titan stem arrived from the guys at Hub Jub. Pricey but it will allow me to run modern drops and is a much neater solution than a quill adapter.

Full build: 10spd Chorus with Veloce UT cranks and Chorus/Open Pro wheels, all stripped from my Mercian which is going off to be resprayed.
Clearance under the fork dictates that I run 23mm tyres but the ride is still surprisingly forgiving.

I love Waterford bikes. Next time you want a stem like that this is a cheaper option.

Thanks, I might get one of those anyway to experiment with. The steerer is butted internally which prevents the stem from sitting any lower unless I cut it down.

Looks sweet, Joe!

Cheers! Really happy with it.

👌
Pretty build, 10 SPD Campæ is the optimum between looks and performance too imhop, newer stuff doesn't do it for me and older stuff just a bit clunky if bomb proof!

Agreed. I’ve got the original 8 speed Mirage groupset to go back on the Mercian once it’s been painted. God knows how many miles it’s done.

Edit: actually Record downtube shifters and Chorus rear mech in this pic. Shifts great.

Silly lockdown wheel build incoming. Tune Mig/Mags on ~350g Fiamme tubular rims with CX Rays all round. Should be sub 1300g.

New tape on the Argos. In my mind’s eye the contours all lined up...

Thinking of letting the Argos go. It’s just not practical for riding any sort of distance. Tyre rub on the downtube is the final straw.

Final ride out on the Argos to pick up a pair of elusive Kinesis DC37 disc forks for an incoming project.
It will be missed.
