  • Did you do the hill climb in your denims?

  • Fire emoji

  • Nah, bailed and went sightseeing instead. Would’ve required a level of panache that I do not possess.

  • Bottom bracket shell on the Factor is oversized, to the point that even a Wheels Manufacturing threaded BB and Loctite retaining compound couldn’t solve the issue. Bit fed up with it so I’ve parked it for now. Will try again at some point and leave it to set for the recommended 24hrs before riding, instead of the 45 minutes it actually had.

Re-enter the CAAD10 which I was unable to sell, even for approaching a hundred quid. RIP rim brakes.

It has it’s own issues but critically, it doesn’t creak. Scored some cheap Quarq power meter cranks for BB30 (another standard nobody wants), chucked a 105 groupset at it and raced it to 10th place against the aero crowd in my first road race.

  • Ignore the untaped bars and uncut cables.

    Hill climb is coming!

Accelerates much better than it stops. AliX ee brakes, 10-year old carbon rims and tubs are a hazardous combination.

  • YES to this

  • did you sort the creak out fully? Also best looking crankset

  • Yeah, bonded the old Token BB (better fit than the Wheels Manufacturing one) in with Loctite 641 and left it to set for 48hrs. Could slide the Wheels BB in by hand!

  • oh lawd that looks rapid!!!

  • big oooft

  • Pre Nationals gainz (or possibly losses, depending how bad the shifting is)
