No, it's 'meringue'. Yet to test its pouring qualities; quite like the element of danger now involved.

Mrs GB did some volunteering at one many years ago. She was horrified at the fact that if one shop was overrun with stuff they'd just pass the bags off to one of the other charity shops nearby.
So if you donated a bunch of stuff to a charity you really cared about, say, Cancer Research, it could easily end up at the Minorly Wounded Axolotl Sanctuary a few doors down.

I think the days of getting a bargain in Oxfam are long gone. Their record pricing is clearly "we read discogs now you prick, we know what you should be paying".

When our nursery hiked their fees before the parents kicked off, I worked out what the cost for our friends with 3 kids full time was grossed up.
Iirc you'd need to be earning >£86k to cover the bill.
To be fair having kids is a pretty unnecessary golf club luxury.

A privilege maybe, but they don't feel very luxurious.
Did some volunteering and at the sorting place it was very much sorting items in to grades, lowest stuff got sent off to Africa, the best stuff got sent to shops in affluent areas where they could charge a premium but it wasn't one of the national ones
