Some things have not aged well, eg pea flour, but the attitude is solid. Put a pan of water on to boil, and then take your hat off. The proto-Nigel Slater, but he’s not afraid of an egg.

I am prepared to suffer instant coffee for free airtight(ish) spice storage. It is cheaper than designer stuff and leaves me more disposable income for whores and coke.

I raise you this:

It used to be fine, but our toddler likes to play, empty and move everything to the sitting room. Plus not being able to have any glass or easy open/messy packets at low level means all our tea and breakfast condiments are now in our cups cupboard which seems to have caused a chain of disruption.

Do you know how many grams/packs of spaghetti the tall vertical container could take?

I’d like to see some references to some of those really expensive coffee machines people bought that ended up as ornaments just to complete the thread

Ours makes 8-10 coffees a day. So given the cost of buying a coffee it has paid for itself many times over in the five or six years we have owned it.

Easily 2 X 500g pack. Possibly three, but I am not sure.

Mine also contains one of those spaghetti measuring things that are sold in every Napoli gift shack.
