Did’st me a bit of the Pilgrims yesterday (a noodling low-intensity ride between Otford and Whitstable) and also a lot of the track around the estuary: Everything’s rock hard and eXtReMeLy bUmPy at the moment. Bring extra pads.

Currently having a pint at The Gun in Findon. Pinch flat about 2km in and couldn’t get my Garmin to route in the right direction, so I ended up on the A273 at Sompting. bLeArGh.
I’m heading up to the home leg somewhere nr Washington where I’ll meet everyone again. Er. ‘opefully.

Sure. Lessons learned*. BUT, the bits of the route I did (plus a lot of Not That Route but in the paths/tracks/hills) were brilliant. Thanks again to Alex for throwing this one out, I’ll definitely be up for another go in that Shoreham - Arundel - Steyning area.

*Fatter tyres, tubeless and do some basic checking on my GPS device before setting out.

edit: I actually ran out of patches for one tube. Returned with a slow puncture on the rear. C U R S E D.

sorry to hear about the troubles you had, @vilms5000. i feared for my thin tyres all the ride but was lucky in the end with no flats.

thanks @Alex_B for organising. the route was incredibly scenic. need to sort my pedals to not go otb again on the descents 😅
