Probably something really ironic, what with how much environmental damage from clothing manufacture.

Worldwide shipping more of a concern than manufacture no?

One of the main roads into Leeds city centre blocked off. Doesn't seem like it's on anywhere near the same scale as the London action. I wonder why the police haven't just shut it down? I'm not complaining, it's great to see. Especially because I ride up and down that road a few times a day at work and everyone normally drives like a total nobhead and now I've got it all to myself.

Does anyone know of groups doing interesting things in terms of shifting attitudes that's more positive rather than protest driven when it comes to travel and other consumption issues? I really think there's an opportunity to encourage people to explore locally rather than head to Stanstead/Heathrow/Gatwick etc but if it's not done cleverly, it could so easily miss the mark

5km race goody bag flyer.
Found after I'd suggested to the r.o. he consider moving away from single use plastic cups for the water... he agreed to look into this.

oh look at all the awareness
https://www.ecowatch.com/google-camp-climate-crisis-2639622926.htmlThe Verdura Resort is a short distance from the airport in Palermo, though many guests arrive via private helicopter or on private yachts, according to Forbes.
In fact, the Palermo airport had made preparations for the expected arrival of 114 private jets, according to Giornale Di Sicilia. The influx of private jets, private yachts, helicopters, sports cars and limousines seems in stark contrast to the theme of the conference.

The people behind Extinction Rebellion advocate a political agenda with ambitions that reach far beyond environmentalism. It is a campaign that seeks to use mass civil disobedience over climate change, to impose full system change to the democratic order. Yet, the underlying extremism of the campaign has been largely obscured from public view by what many see as the fundamental legitimacy of their stated cause.
Says the right-wing think-tank Policy Exchange

could be a quote about Policy Exchange. -

There is no ‘underlying extremism’. Front and centre is the belief we need rapid and massive change. Nothing is hidden.
Ignoring mass extinction and huge climate change is extreme.
