Simple dandy rugged knitted jumper suggestions? Preferably something textured/speckled to help hide dirt/dog hair etc. This is ok but not a fan of the label

I'm eyeing up the mini roll from heimat, tried it on and nice weight, not so cheap but should last much longer than the Carhartt stuff.

Have a blue and a grey in these. The grey is now mottled enough to be absolutely filthy and still look wearable. *Other sweater styles available

As in the brand, or specifically that little label on the bottom left?
If that later, surely you can just unpick it?

+1 for yarmo - I have a crew neck one and its good.
Also outdoor knitwear do a good range - I have one of these:
https://www.outdoorknitwear.com/crew-neck/18-woolly-pully-crew-neck-sweater-.html#/size-xs/colour-peat_brownNote - that the sizing comes up small/tight (unlike yarmo which runs a little large)

Fuck my old boots, the prices you lot will pay for something designed to end up covered in crap! For £450 I kitted out 3 of us with t shirts, hoodies, fleeces and a jacket for me, all of them with company logo and stuff embroidered on.

if you're actually going to work in workwear (shocking I know) go here and be happy https://forcesuniformandkit.co.uk/collections/all-clothing

Another +1 for Yarmo. Got that rollneck as well. Amazing quality for the money. Doesn't really hit North Sea Clothing level of niceness, but not far off. For work I think it's spot on.
Also have a Guernsey sweater that I really rate as well. Wore it more or less daily for 3-4 years and you can barely tell

Saw these ^ at the Brighton store last week. The tall waistband is a nice detail imo.

Sure, but you won't get any internet points from us desk workers with that kind of pragmatic attitude.

Or similar? Likely less than £20.
Edit hadn't seen platypus post same thing

That looks good. I used to have some almost indestructible s/h ‘Tricoteur’ Guernseys - I keep meaning to get another one of the type. I bought some cheap replacements from Woolovers and they were horrible.
-
• #366
^ another good bet. I once bought one super cheap but made of polyester. Horrible. Make sure you get a wool one.

I have the Tricoteur one! Bought it from Labour & Wait and thought it was spendy at £90ish. Turned out to be one of the best purchases I've made.

You can get them much cheaper elsewhere though

Nice! Yeah, I shipped my kid a Guernsey from a CI retailer to Tokyo, last year, for a lot less than the current Labour & Wait price (£138!). L&W also badge engineer the same sweaters Yarmo are selling (with a £20 markup).

You must be new here

Ha!
Surely the answer is to accidently wear your normal clothes when you do a bit of concreting, ruin them, get in trouble for doing so, then moving them from the nice clothes drawer to the work wear drawer? This process has led to me having 2 drawers of nice clothes and about 10 of work clothes...

Cheers all, some top Brexit wear options, think i'll give Yarmo a try.
Now to find a padded overshirt that is even half as good as my old M&S Borg lined overshirt (new versions are shite).
-
• #373
Yeah that's nice, have one yourself?
-

No, I've Andersen Andersen ones which are really nice but since I didn't need one, persuaded a friend to get an Arthur Beale one and it is really really good and per-se v good value from a lovely place that sadly closed up its physical shop in Covent Garden last year after 500 yrs .

Just to add, that thumb-hole feature I have on my Andersen ones too and its a neat feature.
Just p&p.
Buy the server a beer if they're good; pass them on if not.
