I can vouch for these:
https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s109p3531/SPA-CYCLES-RD-2-Road-CranksThe price belies their quality. If you're going 1x then get the double. I believe they come out the same factory as the Sugino Rd-2 and are stamped the same on the crank arms but without the Sugino crown.
For £25 it's hard to go wrong. I think square taper is the way to go too if you've got a dubious NDS thread.

Are you looking at DA bar-end shifters?
-
• #29
Much appreciated for the info, regardless of which factory they come from sounds like they're probably worth the money. Will consider these for a back up.
You might be right but want to atleast try an external BB, hopefully if I do enough time on the bike before the spring I should get an idea if it's going to cause any issues.

Not specifically DA but any Shimano suitable 11sp rear mech bar-end shifter. Hopefully I don't have to buy a set just to operate the rear mech.

I recently went 1x Di2 on my tt bike. Will have a root around as I’m pretty sure I’ve still got derailleurs and things I’ll now never use that you can have. Club 10s are definitely the way forward if you’re starting out, ours has people bombing around on everything from folders to mtbs! Zero pressure, max fun, then, if you get the bug, branch out.

Bike goals riiight there, lordy that looks slippery. With the amount of generosity for this build may need to sort out some kind of shared ownership.

What is your chain keeper please? Would you have a better pic?

Aerocoach’s 3d printed one. This is the best photo I’ve got...
Seems to do the job although I’ve only done a couple of races on this set-up.

Pedals? If you're going for Keos, I've got some you can have.
(I'm feeling left out with everyone else offering free stuff) -
• #36
Oh you guys...! I'd love to say yes please in the spirit of everybody's generosity but actually have some Keos kicking around in the shed as I've gone back to flats on the CdF. Thanks very much for the offer nonetheless, really appreciate it 😁

How about if I say that they’re Keo blade with crabon bits!!!?
-

I have some clip on tt bars and brake levers you can have for £10+ postage? Bontrager from memory.
Used for kilo at nationals so must be super fast? -

That changes everything! Certainly trumps my poor man's 'Easy' ones.

Never seen internal cabling and integrated (ti?) barrel adjusters before. Super classy.

Praxis do a good chain catcher for mech hanger attachment:
https://praxiscycles.com/product/chainguide-braze-roadcx/Spenny but it's great, I use it on my CX 1x setup after shedding my chain 5 times at Ardingly despite having a clutch rear mech and a retainer ring. It was the sand packing out the chain that did it i think. I raced it at Frylands a few weeks later and i could hear the chain bumping up against it till it settled again so it works

I may have a chain keeper in the box too...

I have one of those Aerocoach ones somewhere that for obvious reasons I'm unlikely to ever use.

After being on the forum a decade, people's generosity here still surprises me. Not bad for the unfriendliest forum on the internet...
There's a few people who have very generously agreed to donate parts so as these come in I will update the costs and list who's given what. My main anxiety now is avoiding too many mince pies in an effort to do justice to the finished bike with respectable times. Thank you everybody!

Here you go pal, Bontrager clip on bars and tektro Carbon look levers.
Bars currently have some go fast grip tape on them!

Not sure what I can offer...
Urban camo splash bartape?
-

@Tallboy thanks for the offer on these, will let you know if the bars I'm watching on eBay don't work out. Thanks again
@fizzy.bleach think I've got some boring black stuff squirrelled away, somewhere. Have been wondering about tape with TT bars... is the preference for tape on the bullhorns or on the tri bars? I've seen different combinations and even that grip tape stuff that looks almost painful?

What are the allen head bolts in the dropouts for? Surely not mudguard points?
Looks cool though.

I sold my 7800 but I still love those and those chainrings. Mmm
@Pifko with that it would be too much pressure to set a competitive time, and I could lose it on the course if the BB decides to liberate itself from the frame. Although agreed would look immense.
@spotter much appreciated for the offer, think I'll see what 130bcd offerings are around and if all fails get back to you. Thanks a lot for the offer.
