Thanks! Had a blast. Really enjoy expiriencing the challenge and crossing a whole continent on a bike. Puts places on a map and makes you feel like the whole world is yours to explore.
The result/finishing time wasn't really what I expected tbh, lwgs felt empty and hurt especially for the first days or week. Maybe it was the food poisoning I had days before the start, though I was fine to start, but maybe the tank was empty. Or maybe this was too close that Finland crossing record ride. Or maybe I just wasn't that fast right now but it did feel weird. The crash made a big hole in my leg, that didn't otherwise bother much, but I had to spend some time taking care of it, keeping it dry and clean through all the rain. And for some reason the mediocre heat felt a bit much, I can ride so much more easily and without breaks if it's slightly cooler, though I was fine riding in the Lucifer couple of years ago too. But the ride in itself was spectacular, loved the parcours and seeing more of Serbia. And all of the countries. And sleeping in one of the many abandoned frames of houses in the Balkans. And loved the terrible rain we had too, ridiculous hail storm and lightnings in the mountains. Pouring rain and wind throwing you around for the whole 77 km finish parcours last night.

Congrats, fantastic work!
(Doesn't really mean that much coming from me as I'm totally clueless but am super impressed)

This Brest really is a different kind of finish location than last years. And the precise location is in this kind of a harbour area with not much around it, few km to the city center. Weather still very windy with the occasional rain.

Sounds shit
No meteora

• #2384
Yeah definitely not meteora or even canakkale, though having this hostel building, that is the finish, basically full of finishers is nice.

Just saw a wooden garden chair rolling in the wind, at the closest brewery, and there's there's still some rain here and there. Hippy on the parcours soon.

He's got about 50 kms to go. Let's hope the bars are still open when he arrives.
G'wan Shane!

The weather here has been pretty foul overnight. Anyone riding through this is pretty hardcore.

Well done hippy and samuli!

Nice one hippy.

• #2397
Well done, hippy. The only thing you've ever given up on is giving up.
Now I'm sure you must have a lot of pent-up posting needs. Tw*tter's obviously no substitute. :)

I think you made the right choice, but I can see the dilemma!
That's right. He wrote that on his blog and also said as much before the start, when he was enjoying the beers!
