Sell frame. This make a lot of sense.
I agree with what leggy blonde says, theres plenty of folk who buy dh bikes, barely touch it then sell it.
I bought my bike from Phil Atwill who'd done two seasons of world cup racing on it, it wasn't anywhere near as shagged as you'd think. Although I did crack the front triangle a year later...The best way to go, if you want the Yalla, get the frame and shock brand new then everything else second hand.
That Demo on pinkbike is quite reasonably priced I think. The last Demo frameset on pinkbike sold for £1500, so I think that would be a reasonable expectation of what to get selling on the frame. -

Why not just buy the Demo and ride that?

That seller is the former Propain factory race team manager, have bought a fair bit from him over the years. -

One careful owner, etc.

Ha!
I was told "its been raced for two seasons" then I think they realised that was a bit too honest as it was quickly followed up with "oh but it was a spare bike so wasn't always used. Oh and the rear swing arm is brand new..."
They didn't say what happened the original swing arm and I didn't ask. It's a bit like Triggers broom now though after replacing the front triangle.

Too wee

Fork on the Demo is a 58mm offset and the Yalla needs 50mm, so good idea but it's not going to work.
-
• #6836
It's the pricey crowns that create the offset rather than the fork legs - buy new crown?
-
• #6837
Ah, I didn't know that.
https://www.lordgunbicycles.co.uk/ohlins-dh38-fork-crown-fork
They've only got one pair available, but it's the right offset and it's cheaper than I can see anywhere else.

Yeah I had a look for crowns, they don’t seem to be discounted anywhere.
Second hand is definitely a possibility but mostly down to luck.
There’s a guy on eBay selling the crowns for £108 but the listing seems to be incorrect, description says 20mm offset which doesn’t exist. The photos show that it’s actually a 58mm offset. The listing also says he has more than one available.
Maybe worth asking if any of them are 50mm -

Of the adjustments you can make to this thing - reach, head angle, chainstay length, BB height, etc - I would say fork offset is going to be the least noticeable. Slacken the head angle to get that trail figure back? 62⁰ isn't as insane as it sounds.

I’d rather just get the proper crown.

I'm never sure if theres VAT to pay with lordgun? It seems like they ship from Europe.
Cheapest I can see is £1899 including crown from sussed out suspension
It seems they don't keep it in stock but can order it in.edit - wouldn't go near Lordgun https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/lordgunbicycles.co.uk

I got some tyres from them during lockdown, didn't have a problem. Then again they weren't a £2k+ suspension fork, so...

the proper crown
One could argue that with modular design like this, there is no proper.

Questions to answer though:
- Will I be granted the visa by Singapore Ministry of Manpower
- If so, is there anywhere within say five hours of Singapore to use a DH bike

Brunei? I think it’s only a couple of hours away by plane.

Malacca is easy to get to from Singapore (you can even take the bus) and has some downhill trails apparently.

Interesting- I wonder how popular I would be on the bus with the bike
What’s the most affordable but still high quality way to build it? Let’s assume the starting point is frame/fork/shock.
