  • Wow. This forum really is full of amazing people! I'm going to go with the 25's. I've been on some pretty bad surfaces with them and they have always been OK. Polish gravel tracks may be different tho.
Thanks very much for the offer though, you legend!

  • LOLocopter.

Except the whole months worth of rain that dropped on top of me in 6hrs before Pluzine that time...

Sure, but you didn't try to bivvy out in it did you? I had same in Croatia and pitching a waterproof tent in that would have been a joke. Would have been soaked by time I got in.

  • No, I slept in an apartment block lobby after stopping a 'police chase'.

I'm just saying be careful with blanket (pardon the pun) statements about weather.

Speaking of weather, the longer this summer lasts the better all you lot will be at coping with the heat. My only advantage is disappearing...

  • Generally it's a good idea to prepare for the likely conditions. Mostly dry + the odd storm is typical for summer in SE Europe. Therefore I wouldn't advise packing kit for bivvying in rain as it will most likely be either dry or so wet you wouldn't want to bivvy! 2016 weather fitted that pattern.

  • I don't bivvy in the rain.

  • Uber bike pads. I've just taken possession of 4 pairs of their TRP Spyre sintered offering upon recommendation from the disc brake thread. Look like they've been painted by a 3 year old. Seem to remember some chat about them in the TCR thread from last year but can't remember if it was good or not! Anyone used them?

    ...ish

  • I bought some... for the wrong calipers. @umop3pisdn got them I think.

  • cough set Shimano pads per race, at ~£25 per end.

  • Long but flat way.

  • Well http://outlet.upgradebikes.co.uk/ doesn't work so I'm not buying a spare hanger for the Tripster.

  • I'll be volunteering at the start line so I'm happy to take people's civilian clothes /anything else they want taking back to the UK. I'm cycling back so am happy to drop it off in London or can post them.

  • Mmm...

  • Part of the fun is wearing really old crappy clothes that you can chuck away at the start. Then buying new stuff at the end that you will never wear again!

  • I've managed to keep all mine.

    reduce
    reuse
    recycle

  • ...
    regret
    revolt
    regurgitate?

  • raw
    ripped
    rancid

  • I still wear my Timmy Hilfiger and Ralph Laurence clothes that I bought in Cannakale!

  • Updated with some nicer roads away from DCs, removed some banned shit...

    3894k / 41,740m

  • In the last couple of months l got back down to the weight at which I could wear the t-shirt I bought in canakkale again! For the last two years have been too fat.

  • Meh, speak about bad timing. That's another $50 added to the spending spree...

  • I just buy premium for he month of the race. I think it’s fair given the use I get from their website!

  • Ha, wasn't aware I could buy per month. :)
