High volume is the way forward. 2.6 on the back is so much better than a 2.35.
On a hardtail or rigid presumably? For what it's worth I wouldn't really go larger than 2.35" on a FS, they are heavy enough as it is.

Weighed my Stooge this morning, 15.8 kg š

What did you use to scoop it out of the toilet?

Is this some base antipodean humour?

Stooge
Sounds very similar to "stool" and the fact you "weighed your Stooge this morning" makes it sound like it was on doctors orders. I'm not surprised either, what with it clocking 15.8kg. That's a medical emergency if ever I heard of one.

Iām riding a rigid bike with 2.6 Mescals on wood paths and flowy single tracks and can recommend.

"Good news. Stanton Bikes has arranged for us to deliver your shipment. Your shipment will be delivered on May 24, 2021"
-
• #1510
That's exciting. Have all the other parts arrived?
-
• #1511
All the parts I've ordered have. But all the ones I've forgotten to order haven't.
ie. I guess we'll find out when it arrives and the build starts.
I was just going to use the SLR I have on the Inbred but I think a more padded saddle would be better so that will probably be high on the list. Also was just going to use the 50mm stem off that too but fit might change so I may need a different stem - MTB fit is foreign territory for me.

35mm stem, 800mm bars, bosh.
-
• #1513
I'm not sure what they fit to it. For some reason I have 50mm in my head (maybe I asked them already) which is why I didn't bother looking for a different size.
-
• #1514
50mm stem is a good starting point. For me 760mm bars are the sweet spot - any wider and the getting between trees becomes interesting at speed.
-
• #1515
I went for 780mm for (insert arbitrary reasons).
I used to race with 90s XC bars, which were in the 500mm range I guess so all this super wide bar stuff is mental. Thankfully I'm not very fast and disc brakes exist now so I can stop before I superman myself through a tree gap.

A big box has arrived with Stanton written on it. I wonder what it could be?

It's full of Continental tyres

• #1519
Nonsense, hippy already has enough spare tyres.
-
• #1520
This is true in both senses. Although I can now start collecting 29er tyres...

30 mins since posting and still no pictures?!

Well, I don't have a frame to try yet but I think they should work based on the website claims. It wouldn't be the first time I've tried to ram fat rubber in a tight place with unknown results.
