Hackney and Tower Hamlets have become a bi-borough police authority, but I suppose they must've gone tri-borough where crime rates are lower.

It's odd.
Ealing, Hounslow & Hillingdon are possibly a trial Tri-borough,
but when I encountered the Commander with three of his henchwo/men the other week,
(I was outside Ealing Police station taking a picture of the 'This Police Station is now closed notice', when four people approached me, asked what I was doing, and did not accept 'Just leaving' as a valid answer. Turned out they were all coppers of varying rank),
the follow up email proclaimed his BCU (Business Command Unit) was still 'just' Ealing & Hounslow. -

If you think that's gonna be fixed, think again... https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/feb/25/londoners-at-greater-risk-of-as-met-budgets-tighten

“admitted manslaughter, but claimed he did not intend really serious harm”
Wtf did he think stabbing a person in the chest was going to do. He got off his scooter and stabbed the guy in his chest even after the poor victim handed over his valuables.

Three stories from today.
I'm sure plenty of criminals drive around in cars, too, but

Should've posted the McIntyre story last to end on a positive note.

Did you literally just change your name?
For the first time, I might actually know who people are on this forum
-
• #340
Nah, about a month ago. Gone undercover.
-
• #341
Weird - my update screen still had your old username
Or maybe not, and I just misread and still have no clue.
Ignore me. Nothing to see here, move along folks.

On the one hand, awesome.
On the other, not awesome.
Wouldn't be surprised if the driver loses their job.
-
• #344
He better not lose his job, these people don't care about others safety, so why do the police give a damn about injuring them?
-
• #345
Exactly. Have these London residents forgotten about the two lads who went round on a moped robbing nine people and also stabbing four of those victims. One of those victims was a charity worker who lost his life.
-
• #346
They seem to forget that, I get that the police have to regard everyone else's safety when pursuing these guys, I bet the family of the rider will petition for the driver to be arrested for something then blame the government for closing youth centres as the reason for them doing this.....no your kid is just a prick.
-
• #347
The driver should suffer the full force of the law, 2 points and a £30 fine.
-
• #348
Sweet Jesus; it sounds like you just shat out a page of the Daily Mail with that paragraph.
How about we give everyone guns to protect themselves then?
-
• #349
Ok, but that's what'll probably happen. So you think the drivers actions were wrong? SHould this pricks go round thinking they're invincible?

Had it been someone bombing along doing deliveroo work "running from" a paramedic car going in the same direction headlines would be different. With the amazing view you get from HGV cabs you really could just get a person filtering as an ambulance(or any blue lights) approach from behind and then a random person is killed by a trucker.
Latest cuts in funding from Treasury to the Met have resulted in the MOPAC 'solution' of one Police Station per London borough.
As the Met was also reorganised into Tri-boroughs, it is simple to assume it will become one police station per Tri-borough.
