It's v funny you thought you could report a crim on twitter.
-

There was no specific 'crime' being committed, so no need to bother plod's overloaded phone lines. Was more just to flag the location for future intel.

Can't find where I saw that now. Unless a crime has been witnessed, I'd phone 101. I did it one night after seeing mopeds going up and down quiet roads by my house, looking in all the parked car windows. But I was on the phone for 35 minutes with hold music so I gave up and hung up.
If the suspect is still in the area call police on 999.
If the suspect is no longer in the area, report it by calling 101 -

Noted

Not sure, somewhere east though.

There were always moped scrotes in the area from Tooley St down into Bermondsey when I worked near there a couple of years back - we had a spate of phones being snatched then.
Obviously vigilante justice is bad, etc, but I do know of at least one instance of one of the little sods getting their arse comprehensively handed to them on a plate.

I was told to politely bugger off and call 101 after I was attacked in an attempted theft. Waited ages then hung up as well. This was a crime as well. Apparently, if not in immediate danger, it goes to 101. Go figure.

Whats even the point if thats the attitude they give you. Fuckin crap

Home insurance policy should cover it. I have a £350 excess though - makes a phone claim pretty pointless...

Make a complaint about the 999 operator, or the copper they passed you over to. You were the victim of a crime.

Which reminds me, all the talk of budget cuts meaning the police can't do anything - from my experience the police's complete lack of interest in dealing with any crime I or anyone I know has been involved in hasn't changed in the last 25 years.
I really don't know what the fuck the police actually fucking DO. They never seem to have any officers to attend any minor crime reported to them, and yet 2000 of them can turn up to beat up antifascists and make sure their mates in the EDL and Britain First have a nice walk hurling racist abuse at passers by.

Awful to witness it. Hope Ms Bear's OK and the fear about the victim's arm doesn't come true. So callous if they caused her that.
From the timing of your post, it seems this happened just after rush hour? Most muggings of cyclists that I've heard of were later in the day, usually in the evening, when commuter flows are less concentrated along the minor routes. Previous hotspots include De Beauvoir (about which we have a thread) and the bridge in Kingsbury Road. In the evening, perpetrators don't have to wait for very long to find a 'suitable' victim. I wonder if these ones wait for the 'Quietway' to be emptier and then strike.
Generally, the advice has always been that after hours you're safer on the main streets than in the back streets. I hope that doesn't have to be extended to certain daytime hours.
Here's hoping they catch them soon.

Nah, it's my 'tyre checker'....I don't have a gauge

• #165
Should have yeah. At that point though I really just wanted to go home and didn't really expect any sort of result as it is.

I hate to be a generalizer

My experience too. They've always been hopeless.

This idiotic county doesn't seem to know how to get rid of the Torries so I don't see how that will change until proper crime spreads to places like Marlow.
Why are the coppers wasting their money on bullshit "don't snapchat a terror attack" videos when so many yoofs are killed on the roads?

I've recently got rid of my scooter after having it for two years.
I had it nicked(and recovered)
Number plate nicked(and used the same day in a robbery - luckily I'd already reported it and had a crime number)
I had 2 cunts circle me at some lights once then for whatever reason fucked off...through red lightsc fully black visored up, pillion with no helmet but balaclava and you've guessed it, no number plates. It's now becoming more common on sports bikes/scramblers.
Was at the lights the other night. Heard a massive engined bike come roaring up behind me, squeezed next to me. Tracky on, puffa gilet, air max, blacked out visor helmet, and yes...guessed right again, no number plate...as soon as it went amber he was off a like lightning. These cunts know they are untouchable and unstoppable. No 'face', no number plate/stolen...who's gonna ID them let alone be able to stop them
I hope they all die horrible deaths crashing into walls/lorry's/anything hard

State sponsored violence.
If Government ever got serious about equalling outset opportunities and creating a fairer society most of this crime would disappear.
-
• #173
That's the same shit I got as well. Lucky I had the bike in gear at the lights so just launched off before they were all over me. Guy next to me wasn't so lucky.

A somewhat famous YouTube motorcycle vlogger almost got bikejacked and (of course) filmed it all:

And in Kensington High St of all places. FFS
Didn't know that, but will remember it for the inevitable 'next time'.
