Thank you. I am not sure if it is actually stronger than a different kind of fillet but I am pretty sure it isn't a problem with regular top tube to seat tube fillets so...
It's mostly just a detail I fancy making. -

I had a great ride planned today but it ended in a snapped chain on a descent. First time for that to happen to me. Very very scary.
Seems like the connector link was either faulty or simply snapped.

Whoops! Hope no harm was done to you or the bike. Scenery's as lovely as ever.

Bugger about the chain!
Those fillets are bloody lovely.

Connectors are death
After by chance finding out the connecter loosening on my first fixed bike I have resorted to always connecting chains the old fashioned way.
On fixed mind, I understand the standard double "L" links could be forced to separate when backpedaling due to the resistance.
Geared no qualms. -

Something happened so I'll take your advice next time.

Thanks 🙏

Not advice, just a superfluous comment because you probably already had figured out the solution..;)
Happy you escaped unscathed, and the bike relatively. -

Well previously I've used different kind of "quick links" without issues but also without obviously. But this scared the shit out of me now

I don't think that's true, the chain would still be at tension. Otherwise you'd experience the same effect pedalling forwards when the quicklink was on the bottom of the chain run surely?

I have had a link snap during one of those nice cobbled ascents you tend to have here in Belgium. My man parts still get tingly when I reminisce. Quick links are death.
Those fillets are dreamy, I will need a Hulsroy bike in the not so near future, other things are cooking for now, might need a custom stem if you are keen.

Maybe baby.
Lots of shit going on at Hulsroy International right now...

How do you like the topeak pump?
I’m sorry that happened to you - time for a nice ride is scarce with little kids. I was thinking yesterday I need to take chain tools out with me, so I’ll get on that
-

Well, it is ooooooold now so it's not perfect anyway more. The foot rest broke off and the dial cage indicator fell off and the locking mechanism snapped. Pump still works but key parts are made from plastic which makes it shit. I've gotten a couple lezyne pumps since (on other bikes) and they seem nicer made!

Dropouts finally arrived!
105g for NDS and 103g for DS.
Non UDH Magic Beans will be significantly lighter.
If anyone has the weight of the UDH dropouts from Paragon I'd like to know.

On the bottom of the run it’s still pulling the same direction, should always be pulling towards the closed bit.

This!
At similar prices there is no doubt what looks like the better product

Right! Yeah no doubt between those 2. So much satisfying metal on the lezyne. I am going to get a frame bag, which will mean no frame pump, and so have to go to a smaller jobby. I have a Lezyne HV drive which has been on buggy duty lately, and to be fair it’s fine, I was thinking about a tattico but that is quite splashy. Ah well a decision for later. Micro drive vs HV drive vs Tattico
