Yeah but Mads is an artisan ;)

You mean I like french artisanal bakeries...

That one has a weird brace though.
I saw one were the rear mount was on top of the caliper so you had to thread in one bolt from underneath it. -
• #55
Show me please. That might be an option. Tak!

I can't remember what it was.
It was posted on here in one of those threads with a shit ton of photos everyday.
I'll post it if I find it. -

YES to this one:
EDIT: also gives me confidence that it will actually work :-)

This was Rob's solution on my English...

Getting an allen key to the top bolt must be tight?
-

It was until I switched to spykes. Fine now though.
He had it like this on his own 29er...

It's also slightly inboard of the stay, you just can't tell from the picture.

I don't see how that can vibrate. Too close to the junction to bend the seatstay and the small stub that holds the mount is far too short to bend. Go for it, looks great

Thanks mate.
If it breaks it is not lethal. And I can amend. -

Must be. It is not pretty imo.

That was it. Seeing it again I must concur though. Not pretty.

I had to make a wishbone mitre jig. That is why there has not been much progress lately. I am just one mitre away from a complete frame tho.
-

Always interests me to see how people build wishbones, and it's almost always completely different from the last person!

Yeah. It is not something you can easily google so I just went for it.
I have no idea what I am doing here really. I haven't silver soldered anything like it before and had to do it twice on this second time adding little pegs to secure it.
My idea is that it would be easier to do it flat and then mitre to specs. I don't use Bikecad and I know my way of getting measurements from my drawing and marking out for mitres is really different to Stayer Cycles for example.Could you explain your process of doing wishbones maybe?

I love the seattube toptube join, is the large amount of brazing there a solution to the toptube being a lot bigger than the seattube?
-
• #73
Ta. It isn't that bad. I don't know the actually weight. I reckon it is a bit like a pair of forks or rear ends.
-
• #74
I didn't mean it was more than normal, just trying to describe the section where the tt tapers into the st. I just really like how it looks

Arrh I see.
Sorry, misread your comment.
But, yes you are correct. There is many solutions for this using lugs. Sam (stayer cycles) and I have been working on a seat tube lug similar to the one Donohue just released, but decided that this solution is more clean when fillet brazing anyways. The problem starts when you start tig welding this joint. I haven't found a solution for that yet.
Edit: I have thought about leaving it open and let rear cable come out through the hole
Thanks.
