The world needs more 29er rim brake bikes.

I combined two chains and saved the leftover links for spares!

Is that a bit of wood as chain stay protector? If so, bonus hipster points (no bad thing).

That’s just cloth bar tape wrapped in twine! To my pleasant surprise the chain doesn’t flap around much. I saw Ultraromance’s battered wooden chainstay protector on his Atlantis online; it did look cool.

Ah, I like that idea, lot more pleasing than my wrapping the chainstay with an inner tube .

Not at all. I’m 171cm / 82cm PBH / 71cm saddle height.

Not mine. Unfortunatelly too big for me. (Probably for the seller too big as well)

Interesting! 52-42 crankset doesn't really suit it though.

I don't suppose anyone is looking for a lovely orange Sam Hillborne in a size 54?

I do love mine, but my other half has asked some rather pointed questions about when I ride it recently, and she might have a point.

A couple of bits have changed since then - rims and tyres, although same tyres, just more robust.

For sizing reference, I am 5ft 11in/180cm and the BB to saddle height is 72cm.

There's always gonna be the odd exception.

We’ve just ridden into Norwich and going through Trowse there were two Rivendell riders coming the other way. A silver Sam Hillborne and a blue Homer. Both loaded with autumnal toned luggage. Rare to see one Riv in the wild, let alone two! Enjoy your trip.
