After 6 months of Raleigh Winner ownership and all the joy that brings, its time to move it on as it was a stop gap weekend lock up bike for me.
So who would like to have a winner in their life?
More info up there ^^^ about the bike, but essentially, this was pulled out of a skip by a club mate and it’s been made it work with the help and donations of loads of forum/club types, so it’s only right it’s passed on for nowt.
It now sports working, but noisy, brakes, modern Wheels, 9 speed 105 triple GS and a truly awful stem. It just needs a tube on the front as it has a slowy, but enough to get you home.
Collection from SE1 0700-1600 Tuesday to Thursday

The bike was donated to me and all help and parts were free, so I’m just carrying on the freecycle 🤗

Tempted to sod the dibs list and give it to you just for the photos
You would have to dog his every ride on Q1 with it though

He's a "creative" and starts work at around 11am so I'm normally at my desk when he leaves home. Otherwise I would.

Had a little ‘mishap’ last Wednesday morning, just before Ludgate Circus off St Brides Lane.
The Train and I were quite bashed up, but both will survive, after some replacement parts...
I’m slightly annoyed that the company involved has acknowledged that they have received my email, but haven’t yet meaningfully responded.
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for a few more days, but I reckon it could be a “sorry guv, you are on your own” response.
Either way, it will affect what i do with the train after the Isen has arrived.

On the Isen front I have fallen victim to the curse of R800 and even though Shimano should have delivered the full group to BC on the 4/10 they missed the shifters off, so its a wait until the 23/11.....
Gives me time to get the front wheel built though, and also to learn how to build the front wheel.

I wouldn't let it sit for a few days, realistically its 2017 you should get responses from a company quicker than that.
Also by "the company involved" do you mean the parts manufacturer or did you get hit? Heal up!

British Cycling have passed it on to their product liability solicitors, so i’m Just waiting for the companies response before deciding what to do.
I.e. if their response is up to scratch

Because you've incurred other costs? Otherwise can't you just go into the shop you bought the crank from and get it swapped there and then?
-
• #97
are you chain attacking my PRs on Q1? ;)
Hope you are not bruised up too bad.

Because I will incur costs, eventually. But at the moment I’m very lucky to have BC’s spare parts bin, kindness and tolerance.
But more importantly if this is a defect in that batch of cranks and they try and fob me off, I’d rather have a specialist solicitor attempt to hold them (the manufacturer, it wasn’t bought from a shop) to account, rather than me sending angry emails

Wouldn’t dream of it matey, attacking Q1 Strava boards is just not the done thing, This was CS7 or 8, whatever the one that goes over Blackfriars is.

Went for my first 'proper' ride on the Rourke today.
Kept it sensible to iron out any niggles and not to stress my usually, dodgy mechanics skills. Had to stop at the shop in Pitlochry to trim a few cable ties on the guards and flaps and adjust the saddle and seat post, but other than that it's bang on.
Very happy and also very satisfying to ride a bike that I have done all the spannering on myself, having been pretty much reliant on BC in the past, it's quite a departure for me, but an enjoyable one. It also given me the confidence to get stuck into more stuff on the bikes.
