I've had Mocha and Toffee and Rhubarb & Custard before - R&C was my fave

A bit of cinnamon in the unflavoured one works nicely.
No longer mixing with coffee – just one coffee in the morning and no food until 1.
Basically intermittent fasting. -

Proper weird thread.

Needs merging with the BBQ thread.
2L of smoothie a day vs 2kg of slow smoked meat a day

Why not both?

Ordered. Excited!

I'm down from 72kg to 69kg in 2.5 weeks. I'm going on the magic body fat machine at the gym tomorrow and am hoping for good results too. :)
I actually think it's the state of mind drinking this shite gives me rather than the stuff itself. It tastes so manky and makes me feel such a weirdo there's no way I'm eating loads of delicious proper food and undoing the hard work forcing down the lumpy tasteless gruel.
Protip: Don't get unflavoured.

I had the usual 1pm Huel today but got properly hungry again about half an hour ago so went and got a lamb chop with veggies from the caffeteria.
Might just be from overdoing it yesterday.

Currently about half way through the unflavoured bag. It's not as nice as vanilla but the sucralose in that kind of creeps me out.
-
• #237
I tasted the vanilla a while back and it was waaaay too sweet. Thought it was quite pleasant though. A bit like a crap smoothie with oats in.

Just finishing off my first shaker-full. Weird. More texture than I'd have imagined, but the little lumps are kind of satisfying. Didn't taste bad, didn't taste good (I went for vanilla).
Cautiously optimistic about this experiment. -

I actually prefer the unsweetened one. Just tastes like plain oats.

The knack is:
Half water
Then the Huel
Then the other half of the water
Then shakeThat removes the lumps bestest.

or one of those shakers with a spring ball, thats what I use, works a treat. I put the ball in first, then 500mls water then the powder on top and give it a shake - I use those maxi muscle size shakers with a flip spout. You can get just the spring ball for 99p on eBay.

Just bought a blender type thingy just for HUEL. I had a blender in the kitchen already but that was Not For Food Use, as it's the one I use to make tyre sealant in. Too lazy to shake, I'll let the blender do all the hard work.

Somehow our Nutribullet (TM) doesn't work as well as a shaker.

Blender is essential - I use a ten year old cheapo juicer, works a treat

Anyone mix Huel with protein shake? If so does it work ok?
-
• #246
I mix with pea protein during the day...but it's 3 scoops Huel / 1 scoop protein...otherwise it tastes rank like pea protein normally does. :)

• #247
Bosch hand blender thing works well
-
• #248
What's the point in adding protein? You can't metabolise more than 30g in one go and there's 30g in 100g Huel.
-
• #249
Because the extra protein will still be absorbed and used by the body eventually. So if I miss a meal completely for whatever reason, I'll still have protein in my system to use.

Typically in a 50g protein shake you will only absorb a fraction of the total protein. Sipping the shake and drinking it with something thicker helps. Having a shake with digestive enzymes helps much more.
I was mainly asking out of interest as I'll be having huel at 10-11am, 90 mins before the gym and then a shake afterwards but just wanted to know what others were doing
