Maybe, I have : 165mm force 22 cranks(with 50/34 rings), with a 42 and a spare 50 chainring, 11-36 cassette, Rival 1 shifters and a spare Rival 1 long cage derailleur.
Will see whether my wife wants to change to 1x. -

Blips and blip clamps on the way for climb shifting goodness.
Need a GXP bottom bracket, any point in getting anything other than Sram GXP team BB?
Also the frame doesn’t have a front derailleur tab, so will any derailleur clamp work, or do I need to get a sram yaw clamp?
They seem to be around £30 which is nuts. -
• #107
Any will work, cheap ones tend to be a bit crap and either slip or easily over tighten though
You’ll probably get several people now telling you Sram GXP bbs are terrible but I’ve nothing but good experience with them. -

So build will look something like this:
Etap, gxp 50-34 chainset
Blips on bars near stem
Avid shorty ultimates
11-28 ultegra cassette
Pro plt stem 90mm ( enter stem angle)
Pro vibe compact bars
Arc31 wheelset with g-one 35mm
Reynolds assault powertap with gp4000s for tarmac days -

I have an 11-28 cassette at the back, and currently the top cog of the etap RD is more than the 6-8mm away from the biggest cog, and even with the longest B tension screw I’ve ever seen, can’t get it closer.
Could the hanger just be longer than the norm?
In theory would that allow me to use an 11-32 cassette with a short cage etap dérailleur without problems? -

I think 30t is max. might need a Roadlink
-

Managed to route the front brake cable without compromising the brake performance.
Also, not much clearance between the tyre and FD battery!

I’m in Sierra Nevada with my Breakaway framed bike at the moment and I’m a convert- takes nothing away from the bike, means you can take it with you as normal luggage. Awesome.

Does it add much weight over a standard frame? Definitely seems like the best option given how minimal it looks and only needing allen keys to dismantle

My steel bike, fully built, is 7.7kg- so I don’t think so.

Probably adds about 100-200g or so with the clamp and lugs at the seatpost clamp.
My ti bike comes to about 8kg, around 7.4 with road tyres and tubes. -

Sounds epic!
My aim next year is travel abroad for fun and exciting cycling destinations so the breakaway was an easy fit. -

First 50km ride with etap, lovely!
Other than tapping the left shifter to try and change front derailleur on occasion, shifts like a dream. Also despite being nice and comfy, the voyager hypers seem to roll really well.
Got my Venge being wired up for duraace di2 (couldn’t be arsed to do the internal cabling myself) so can compare the two.
Selling the old group? Would be interested in force 1 mech
