  • Bit of a heads up,

Selling this 1940's/50s track frame believed to be a JRJ (Bob Jackson). Marked up as 'Ces Jenkins' but sold to me as a JRJ and pretty certainly identified as such by the Classic Rendezvous Google Group including Kevin from Woodrup who used to built for Bob Jackson later on. I think its 531, certainly lightweight for the time and takes a 27.2 seat tube

    See Here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/238801/?offset=350

    Seat Tube 22 inch (55.8 cm) c-t (I think-will check tomorrow night)
    Top Tube 23 Inch (58.4cm) c-c .

    £280

collection London- East, Greenwich or Central ideally.

Positives: Its got some lovely details to it including extra re-inforcing sleeves to the seat stays at the bottom bracket. Also a lovely detailed little notch to the seat tube top lug and and nicely cut modified oscar egg lugs.

Negatives: Has had various braze-ons fitted at a later date and I think the rear brake bridge has been modified later to take a brake, but still a lovely frame nicely painted up, rides really nicely and very light for a frame of it's age.

I'm only selling as its a little too long in the top tube for me and more importantly I've just acquired a Paragon Andy Bone Track frame and a Maclean, and Mrs Jeff says it has to go. Also have decided to only keep frames in original paint etc from now on when it comes to vintage.

It's fitted with a tdc bottom bracket and I'll throw in a Brampton Atalet Headset I bought for it.

This image is just for now-F&F ONLY for sale (with the bottom bracket and Brampton Headset)

I'll take more photos asap after removing parts and cleaning tomorrow night.

Really sad to see this go but needs must and really a bit too long for my T-Rex arms...

  • JRJ track on classic lightweights for comparison: http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bikes/jrj-rb.html

  • Forgot to camera memory card today so here is some pictures of the frame details from a few months or so ago. Condition is pretty much unchanged anyway.

    That reinforced bottom bracket sleeve:

  • And that later braze-on gear hanger . You can see some of the others on the bottom bracket image (they are a lot neater than the gear hanger.)

  • I'm no expert but I think the braze-ons can be pretty easily removed.

As I said earlier, I'll throw in a Brampton Atalet headset as well, and the adjustable stem should anyone want it.

Need this gone as soon as possible really, so PM me if your interested.

  • Price drop bump now £290

  • Frame all striped down now so you can get a better idea of it
