  • I am still not sure about it .. might not get the compass bars .. 115mm reach !

Why not? it's better to run a longer reach bar and a slightly shorter stem with a handlebar bag, last thing you want for the stem to go so far ahead it make it trickier accessing the bag.

  • Interesting .. I was also looking at Simworks Wild Honey ..

  • That look similar to the Compass Rando bars.

Very comfortable shape, going to order the Compass one in 46cm soon.

  • If you had a choice, would you go with 6 bolt or centre lock? It's for a road bike, running shimano group sets. Does it matter?

  • centrelock every day plus I think shimano's fancy new rotors are CL only

  • have you sold carbonda?

  • no but I will as soon as Triton arrives

  • It doesn't matter

  • Well technically speaking there is a bit of play in a 6 bolt rotor until you tighten the bolts so it’s possible to bolt it on not completely straight. CL is dead straight every time

  • It does if in the future the majority of quality hubs and rotors are only offered in CL flavour.

  • There are always adaptors tho, right?

  • Of course, but if you have the choice you're better off going for the latest standard that is most likely to last for a bit.

  • Thanks, and can you still use CL with a QR adaptor for non 12mm Thru axle forks?

  • With SON I havent tried but I recently converted DT350 into QR by using their official end-caps.

  • Saying that my friend is looking for a 15mm SON dynamo CL hub in the UK and can only find 6-bolt.

EDIT: Only made with 6-bolt in the 15mm flavour.

  • So I have decided to go with Spork on Triton after seeing this:

Also in talks with Gav regarding the custom rack.

  • Maybe this will happen instead of moving over R785 ..

  • Do it

  • Why wouldn't you use the groupset's calipers?

  • Coz #buyer

This is making me itch to build a N-1 do it all consolidation bike.

  • Hope are better

  • This is making me itch to build a N-1 do it all consolidation bike.

I've got a feeling these functional type bikes will start to become quite popular

  • I am basically combining the carbonda and genesis into a distance bike. Getting rid of the niggles both of those have. Sort luggage options, front rack, will never come off; might take mudguards off if I am touring somewhere dry, add capacity for rear racks, internal dynamo routing, supernova rear light brazed on ST etc.

I was going to do PBP in 2019 but not sure if i want to to but going to do SR on it.

  • internal dynamo routing

    Yes Amey!

  • Hope RX4 brakes are pointless and harder to take care of than Shimano. Seems perfect for Amey's bike.
