  • looks ace.

Could be worth dropping this guy a message? Even if he can't help might have some good advice .. He is approachable

  • Good shout, do follow him but didn't think of messaging. Can't hurt eh.

  • If that doesn't work out, then might be worth dropping Rohan a line:

  • @Tom13 @Rodolfo had the swine soaking in WD40 for a couple of days, and with my 'easy-out' drill bits (in a decent pillar drill) they didn't yield. Even sliced slots in the back to undo with a screwdriver and nothing. Wouldn't surprise me if they were glued in some how as doesn't quite add up.

  • Cheers Andy!

  • Hmmmpf.
Doesn't a drill generate more torque i.e. tried unscrewing the back with a flat drill bit?
Just stabs in the dark, we're trying to 'elp 'ere.

  • The new bike looks lovely, well done on the build!

    What size is the frame?

Dibs if you ever sell it.

  • Thanks a lot, I'm surprised how good the frame looks, from a distance, considering how much touch up paint was used. Re sizing, its seat tube 59cm ctc and top tube 56cm ctc. Think the slightly shorter head tube (to account for the long fork/tyre clearance) makes it look slightly smaller. @ough comically has first dibs but will add you to the list!

  • I think we're pretty much done. A big thank you to @Ducky🦆 who provided a well loved Centaur rear derailleur that I cannibalised to make the my Record one work. Was a little tricky but came good in the end. Looking forward to spring even more and putting some miles on the bike.

  • Lovely!

  • Excellent balance of silver and black

    Lovely

  • Wonderful looking bike that!

  • Utterly lovely…but have we discussed the bars? @Hulsroy might have a suggestion…

  • Thanks for all the kind words, this place isn't bad eh. @chak thanks, you might find this interesting.

  • Thin tubes and fat tyres are great fun, especially when you get a cracking spring morning like today. Front and rear limit screws now adjusted and saddle raised 1cm which should help. Might be able to see in this photo, but had to disconnect the front brake, 5 mins after setting off caught a small stone under one of the pads.

  • Managed to nip out early to avoid pageantry overload. Brooks saddle is feeling a lot comfier than I remember.
