  • Yeah! Get in touch with Gav over at August. Super good dude and will sort you out with what you need!

  • joke about gravel jamming in mudguard please

  • Bike is seriously beautiful though, I spent probably over a minute gazing at it on instagram

  • Don't think it can be hidden anywhere on this build... geo is set for slammed stem, so once I'm confident on fit the steerer will get chopped and junction box bonded to the stem. Will probably try and get the cables as short and tidy as poss too once everything is dialed in.

I get the comments about flaps, but I just can't bring myself put them on. To be honest, it's a miricle it's even got guards on, so flaps are a just a bridge too far for me....

  • Que form/function comments!

  • Yea! Colour/finish combo is so good.

  • How much does it weigh?

  • My Cielo is 9.9kg...!

  • how did I miss this!? So good @hoops . Totally with you on mudguard flaps. Would love to hear how those tyres perform on tarmac.

  • Dunno, I havent seen it in the flesh yet!
    Thats a question for @coldharbour

  • You don't want flaps if you're going to be on anything more gnarrrly than a towpath

  • You seem to have built yourself a tourer, minus the useful racky bits.

  • This is a new favourite bike. Nice work to all involved. Really good stuff. There's so much seemingly simple and elegant design in the bike I think the simple paint is spot on.

I still have some pounds kicking about in my old account. Waiting for the AUD to drop before transferring but maybe I should speak to Matt/Talbot and invest in one of these.

Matchy matchy MK 1 gti in the works?

  • Get your name down on the build queue... you won't regret it!
Would love a factory condition mk2 gti 8V in Oak Green, but don't have a garage to keep it in!

  • Mk1 or GTFO

  • Best build 2016?

  • Am I the only person who thinks that the HT to TT & DT welds look a little, uh, agricultural?

  • @smac back away from the screen a foot or too. Enjoy the bike as a whole.

  • Tigged init.

  • They're not bad, granted not Kevin Winter standard, but perfectly acceptable to my eye.

  • I'm not saying that the bike as a whole is no good or anything, it's a cracker!
I just would have thought that a bespoke frame builder doing altogether great work would finish welds to a tidier standard.

Anyway, kudos on a marvelous bike!

  • These tyres perform pretty well on tarmac, but excel on gravel.

  • Just you mate

  • Fucking larvely

  • I think the argument for a mkii oak green gti is perfectly valid. Easier to source and even better as a daily. Stock steelies welded into wider rims, a touch lower and straighten all the shutlines... Sweet.
