• What crankset in your opinion would be better suited in matching the look of the chromix?

  • The Chromix is back off, the Jag back on, just can't get on with those Nitto risers, just a horrible shape and width. Currently shopping for a suitable riser, preferably Easton, for the Chromix. However I was think Campag C Record Pista third gen? Maybe not as polished as this:

But you get the gist. The Chromix is very shiny.

  • I agree that the chromix is very shiny! I use a pair of GB all rounder handlebars, Good rise and sweep. I find them to be quite comfortable and yeah the campag crank should look spot on I think!

  • Yeah as long as I can find one. Prestty much made up my mind to go for a full restore on the bike now. So may cycle up to Argos one lunch hour and talk through some options. Also Razesa still exists, so using my fluent Spanish-speaking housemate am going to email them to see if I can find out some of the history of the frame. If I can find out when the frame was built then I can start to source period-correct parts for it, and correct decals, like these:

Be nice to know what the bike looked like originally, whether is was a one-off custom job or more were produced.

  • Got a few things coming, decided to go Japanese rather than Campy so some Sugs 75s and ring and a Nitto s65 seatpost en route, hopefully in time to build it up. Also a black Romin, will post pics when I have them as it means the bike isn't wearing a load of borrowed parts. Full paint restoration still in my thinking.

  • That was very much my thinking, but I didn't have the cash to go through with it

  • Well it's going to be funded by the annual bonus methinks. May take it along to Argos for them to have look. Considering sparkly black but with a contrasting colour on the seat-cluster lug, most probably white.

  • Some shiny new bits to go on the bike! Gonna be the last for a while as I have a sick pupper and the vet's bills are going to be big

  • Pic of the bike with new parts, have relaxed the saddle angle since but the weather is shite and I'm too busy with a sick pupper to take another photo. Love the new bits on it, esp the Sugs. A Zen ring is in my thinking, but looks fantastic as it. Haven't had much chance to ride it though.

  • Hmm

  • Thinking of a sparkly black and the seat cluster lug in pearl white. Custom decals

  • Close ups. Was thinking black Zen but the 75 ring is prolly all I need

  • I dunno, them Sugino NJS bolts

  • You need these then dust caps

  • You need these then dust caps

    Mismatching fonts though. :/

  • Ooh you are right I do

  • Ooh YOU are right, damn

  • Romin is still very nose high, the tip is meant to be slightly down, mid section flap and back up a bit.

  • I like my saddles like that, else I get wrist ache. Actually I prefer the earlier angle tbh.
