Oh I see your point, probably because that particular model isn't the range topper, this, with the SiSL2, is;

That Colnago looks great. Love those tyres on it.

The SISL2 cranks are a pain in the ass to make. Hollowgram Si much less so. So if they expect to sell a lot of a particular model it will get the Hollowgram Si or even the Si crank.
On that note, it's a shame the non hollow Si crank doesn't look as nice as its hollowgram siblings, because once you've got one, you are kinda suck with it.

New bombtrack arise looks pretty cool; sliders, disks, lowrider eyelets. But they kinda shit the bed on the fork crown. At first i thought there was no hole for mounting a guard there, but it is actually just on the back. However lots of front racks require a hole all the way through the crown, so either drill it or be restricted on rack choice. Gotta say it is quite aesthetically pleasing tho.
dat rear wheel spacing/ dishing/ alignment tho!

Funnily enough i was running through what i liked at the bike show and came back to this, thinking why have they not done a disk version .
Then I realised it not a cinelli

Mainly because of clip and strap pedals, which despite the popularity of clipless, still prevail on a lots of bicycles.
This is usually why bicycle manufacturer don't lower the bottom bracket, because the clip and strap pedals would have scraped easily.
I have a 75mm BB drop on my custom bike, with clip and strap it really kick off on a straight line.

Way I think, unicrown are the lightest, stiffest and strongest fork crown you can make, at a disadvantage: it is not attractive to look at.

I've ordered the black Sequoia.....I've now got to twiddle my thumbs till the 27th, as long as there are no delays :0)
Very excited, as the Stache didn't work out too well as a winter bike, due to the chupas trying to kill me at every opportunity! This should be able to cope with my winter towpath/bridleway/metal road riding.

Doesn't like tyres... buys a new bike..
Seems legit.
-
• #237
Well, I can see how it comes across like that, but there's a little more to it than that.....
Have I upset you?
-
• #238
Not at all mate, I was just taking the piss :-)

Have I upset you?
Yes, yes you have.

Loving the look of this, looks an excellent bike. The £950 one? Interested in hearing how you get on with it
-
• #241
I assume your kidding as they seem to be one of the few companies doing this
-
• #242
I'm not kidding, I'm talking about in general than just that bike with the unusual high track-like BB.

:0)
I was going to go down the 650b+ wheels route for the stache, as there are a lot more options for mud tyres in that size, but I felt I was compromising, as I love the way 29+ does everything else. Then work released the cycle to work scheme (ours don't do it all the time) and I thought about the type of bike I wanted for less than £1000..... I like the croix de fer, but the base model has lesser quality steel (that reviewers seemed to dislike) and the Genesis vagabond was too similar to a bike I have.....
As our work uses the halfords scheme, it makes it impossible to get Gucci frames, and then I r ad about the sequoia.....decision made ;0) -
• #244
Your keeping the Stache right?
-
• #245
Oh yes.... It's a fantastic bike. I've seen a tyre by maxxis, called the ranger, and it's hopefully going to be over here soon..... It's out in the states already. That looks good for gloop!

New Tarmac?

Looks that way, shame, not nearly as nice as the current model

Look like it's similar to the Allez Sprint too (similar, rather than identical).
I should have clarified - would have expected the SISL2 cranks to be on the DA model, with SI or even and SISL rebirth on Ultegra.
